The Ordinary Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F 30ml

I am so glad I tried this product! I have acne prone skin and I was a little afraid that it may break me out. But to my surprise after a few weeks of using my skin became much better and I hardly get any spots. My dark post-acne marks faded considerably, the tone is much more even, skin looks brighter and hydrated (no flaking despite the cold winter). I do not have to wear full coverage foundations anymore - overall I am very happy!

Can't I use this cream with Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10% ?!LOVE THE ORDINARY, YOU SAVE MY LIFE AND MY MONEY HA HA.

Can you use LED light treatments with this? Would it affect the vitamin f/c?

Been using this for a little over a month now in combination with the “daily set”. My skin has really improved in the sense that it hardly ever has dry patches or breakouts anymore. I find that the vitamine c really helps with post breakout pigmentation. It didn’t deminish my melasma but definitely helps to create a more even skin tone. I’m very satisfied with the products and would definitely recommend.

I have been using it over a month and have not seen any results yet , would it absorb better if I were to use it before the toner ? I use it with alpha arbutin + HA & azelaic acid in my night time regime. What else Could I add to this to brighten skin and address pigmentation Thanks

i really like how this feels on my skin -- lightweight and smooth -- and i feel like it's made my skin nicer with daily use for the past few months.

I am enjoying it so far, using it for 4 weeks already. I don’t know if it’s just me but this product has a smell that slightly remembers me the smell of gasoline, since I’m not very picky with smells, it’s OK for me… but it can be a bit strange for some

I have rosacea and can’t use most actives without getting a flare up (angry red skin with bumps -acids are especially irritating). I wanted to try vitamin C but without risking irritation. This has been perfect! I apply a few drops right after cleansing in the AM then wait 5-10 Min before moisturizer and sunscreen. It brightens my skin and even reduces redness. I use every other day to further minimize risk of irritation (and only when my skin is not actively flaring from Some other irritant) but I may try working up to daily after a few months.

Love this product for the way it makes my skin feel especially in the drier, winter months. Res a beautiful glow. Could you tell me if I could add a scoop of 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder to add to the discoloration power? I am not seeing as much change as I'd like despite using day/night for quite some time, on my 2nd bottle.

I have been using this product for a while now because I wanted something to fight against post-acne scars. This has been doing a great job so far, but I want to get the most out of my skincare, so I was wondering, how much do I have to wait after applying this serum before putting a moisturizer on?

I really like the Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution for use in the morning, and since using this product in combination with other The Ordinary products, my skin has improved dramatically! I have recently bought niacinimide though and I am unsure as to whether I can use these products together?? I want to use them both in my am routine :)

This one has instantly effect, after 1-2 times used, my skin tone is brighten. However, I found my freckles are darker...Is it really suitable for daytime use?

Again another wonderful and affordable product. My skin feels fantastic the instant I put it on and my skin looks and feels better with regular use. It takes a bit longer to absorb into my skin than expected only about two to three minutes. Not that it matters I would still use it if I had to wait thirty minutes before my next step. It is that good!

I really liked this though I must note it doesn't seem to give results as quickly or dramatically as regular l-ascorbic acid serums. If you're trying to clarify skin fast for some future social engagement I'd recommend a traditional l-ascorbic acid serum. That said the consistency of this makes it possible to apply on eyelids, lips, back of hands etc. Regular L-AA serums don't absorb as well on all parts of the body and can leave a sticky finish when it doesn't absorb nicely, as well as stinging sensitive skin. Those traditional serums are also notorious for smelling like hot dog water and you don't want that all over yourself. By contrast this absorbs super well and has no scent. I'd be interested in seeing this adapted into a day cream given that they're using an oil soluble form of vitamin C so in theory a lotion should be possible. I have been using this product for over a year now and I love it. It makes my skin feel healthier, not greasy, it looks glowy which is very nice. I am using it to prevent age marks, so far I don't really notice more of them, but can't say it works to reverse them or anything like that. In general, a very good experience with the product. It lasts for a while, I use one drop for each cheek and one drop of my forehead. There is enough product with that to go down to my beck. I just wish there was a bigger version. It mixes well with the buffet and with my moisturizer, but it does not mix well with Hyaluronic Acid 2% +B5, it peels.

I have sensitive skin and dry and acne prone and am 23 and just wanted something to brighten hydrate and reduce any early aging if any. This is amazing!!! I wear it every morning. I was out grocery shopping today and somebody came up to me (I had no makeup on) and said holy crap you have amazing skin. Like what?? Been using it for 3 weeks now.

the name of the product says ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate but the inci says tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate. they are two different chemicals according to research right? i have been using this product but since i live by the sea, it tends to get humid and i can only get away with using oil based products during winter/dryer months.i have heard great things about tetrahexyldecyl and i want to confirm what is actually used in this product.

Good so far, lightweight and fast absorbing, but what is the Vitamin C derivative used in this? The name says Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (ATIP) but the ingredient list mentions Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (THD). Both are very good and very similar forms of Vitamin C BUT their molecular structure is different. Could you clarify please? Both are good forms so why not advertise the real form of vitamin C you're using? Thank you!

I love this product! I have been using this product for two months now in my PM routine and wanted to wait to see all the improvements before writing a review. It says it targets dullness, uneven tone, signs of aging and it does. My skin tone is more even. This product left my skin looking vibrant and glowing, especially in combination with my AM routine when I use Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. I am in the beginning of my twenties, so I can't say a lot about the anti-aging effects, but I did notice when I am smiling, fine lines around my mouth and eyes seem smaller and the skin there looks firmer.Another thing I like about this product is texture and how it feels on skin. Although it is an oil solution, it doesn't leave skin oily. It feels more like dry oil and I love this, since I don't really like the feeling that regular oils leave on the skin and how heavy them seem to be on the face.I would absolutely recommend this product and I already have. Also, I will be repurchasing this product, but not soon since I want to try other vitamin C formulations from The Ordinary.

I previously used a 20% vitamin C formula that really dried out and irritated my skin, causing flaking. This has not done that. I do notice it might be slightly drying, but applying oil or moisturizer amply takes care of that. It doesn't sting or burn. It absorbs extremely quickly. I like the fact that it doesn't conflict with other active ingredients, so I don't need to worry about what I use it with. I bought it as part of my continuing attack on stubborn sun spots, and it does seem to be helping the fading process along with alpha arbutin, niacinamide, and azelaic acid.

I combine it with retinol and they both works like magic.

Been using for about 3 weeks so far. My skin looks noticeably better. The Ordinary does not disappoint. Pores are getting clearer as well. 👍

This is by far the best vitamin C I’ve ever tried. I’m actually about to order my second bottle. It feels almost like a quick-dry oil- it absorbs into the skin very quickly and leaves you glowing. I bought this product a few weeks ago, and while I have noticed that my dark spots are slightly faded now due to using (and not even everyday use), my face instantly flushes and becomes warm to the touch for a while afterward using this serum. I feel like I've also been breaking out more and I don't know if this serum is to blame or if the sunscreen I use is. Either way, I think it's time to try another form of vitamin C, or quit using it altogether.

There are several reviews asking the same question is this ATIP or THD? We do our research and have learned that while the coding says they are the same, they are in fact chemically not the same! Staff say they spoke to the chemists and they say it’s the same because that’s what it’s been coded as, which isn’t accurate. We would like a real answer as to what chemical this Vit C really is. The research matters. The difference matters.

Kindly confirm if the main active ingredient is Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (as listed on the product's name) or Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (as lited on the ingredients list), as the two are definitely NOT the same ingredients, and in fact, two different ingredients.

This used to be great but since the Ordinary have changed the ingredients, it gives me spots and my skin looks way worse. The Ordinary, please could you revert to the original ingredients? This used to be a great product!

Honestly, being fully sold on "acne free" ingredients, but also in need of a non irtitating, non waterbased formulation of vit c, this version by Deciem had me sold! (Despite having too much F and no vit E!) Despite randomly wishing for the b oil to come back with the chia oil and some others, lets stick with this amazing gentle formula which interacts really well with the moisturizing glucosides from NIOD. My sensitive acne prone responds well to science and here both brands have it! Word of encouragement - join the facebook group for a better understanding of both lines and how to pick the best products. It really opened my eyes to the brilliance and commitment that is conveyed in these thoughtful formulas. Also last word to those who say "it broke me out"... not all are bad. Just figure out if its a purge or a reaction or a real breakout. That my friend takes a lot more time and care... and I myself have to check myself and use Niod glucosides and soon the hydration vaccine if I overdo it on a product combo.

I absolutely love this serum! I use this in the evening and apply it immediately after I wash my face before toners to allow direct absorption (I put about 5 drops in my hand and pat into my face). It’s so gentle and absorbs so quickly that sometimes I wonder if I’ve put on enough, so don’t be fooled because you have. Every time I use it, the next day, I get so many compliments on my skin - that it’s glowing, it looks open, etc. It’s wonderful! For the record, I have dry, dehydrated skin. I cannot say enough glowing things about this product! I started using on recommendation of one of the DECIEM staffers based on my skincare needs and wanting a Vitamin C product. This product absorbs very nicely and quickly - doesn't feel oily at all. On warm, humid days, I could actually get away with just this as a moisturizer (but don't since I put on sunscreen afterwards). A little goes a long way. Whenever I put it on, I can see my skin instantly brighten and I look a decade younger. I am a lifelong fan on this product, and hope it never goes away!
