The Ordinary Skin Solution Set

The thing is, sometimes you don't know how good a treatment is until you fall off a consistent regimen! I have used this serum for more than 4 years. Recently, I fell off my routine (easily over 3 weeks) and boy did my skin not like it! I have aging skin concerns, but add congestion, dullness, blemishes on top of that...ugh! What a difference when I got back to using this twice a week in combination with my AM & PM routine. Things cleared up quickly and my skin immediately responded better to my other products. So, that is why I am writing my review now. Stay consistent and your skin will love it.

I am 32 and male. I have a pretty blemished combination skin with pimples and acne scars. I use various products from "the ordinary" to finally address my skin problems, since I have so far taken nothing. I have been using this product for three weeks as prescribed by the manufacturer, 1-2 times a week. I leave it meanwhile however 12-15min on my skin. It has a positive effect on my skin. I use other products from "the ordinary" but I can say with certainty that this product is a significant part of my skin care routine to combat my blemishes. I definitely notice how this product chemically exfoliates my skin week after week. It burns a bit, but it's not bad and my skin is not overly irritated afterwards.

I've been using this peel for about 5 months now. The immediate effect when you go to wash it off is surprise at how smooth your skin will feel. I kept washing, thinking it was the smoothness of the serum or something causing it on my face but no my skin was just that smooth afterwards. I also use it as a spot treatment for about 10 minutes at a time and it will vaporize pimples. It's quite strong however, and one time I went too aggressive on the spot treatment and left a scaly patch of dry skin. DO NOT pop pimples before you use it, it will burn like crazy. Let it do the work.

Hey thanks to everyone for their reviews, I just used my peeling solution for the first time also. Right after washing off the peel my face felt so soft and smooth I applied the hyaluronic acid to add hydration back to my skin follow up with NMF. My face literally feels like a baby I'm thankful to Deciem for creating these affordable products. Ps: I haven't gotten any breakout as yet due to my sensitive skin but I'll keep you guys posted. I really wanted to like this toner because it’s often compared to Pixie Beauty’s Glow Tonic, which I really like. However, this one leaves my skin feeling very tacky after each use. I would try to wait for the feeling to go away before putting on my serum or mouisturizer, but it doesn’t— not even after an hour. I do like that the scent is mild and it doesn’t make my skin irritated, though.

I bought this last month ,honestly I didn’t see any change on my face .i bought this with high hopes but I got tiny bumps on my cheeks and forehead .so disappointed

I only been using a week a see the results, I still have large pores for now but I feel confident in this product, i stopped wearing foundation in hopes it will work better at cleaning out my pores

I have been using glycolic acid not only to get rid of dead skin and brighten my complexion but I also have seen great results putting it on my scalp before my shower, as it dissolves dead skin cells, removes flakes and product build up and also under my arm pits as a natural deodorant

I've dealt with seborrheic atitis since 2012, and sometimes it got so bad I'd cancel dates or stay home from work. I tried all sorts of different topical creams, soaps, shampoos and diets and fasting and kind of just relegated myself to having to deal with this the rest of my life. As one doctor said, all you can really do is treat it. Periodically I'd peruse the Seb subreddit to see what people are saying and this product was recommended. I was sceptical about the claims but considering it's price I figured it was worth a try. Within a month of daily applications my condition completely cleared up. It's been almost six months and I haven't even used two full bottles yet (I only apply every few days or weeks now) and I can tell you that I'm completely blown away by the effectiveness. I'm not saying it will definitely work for you, but if you're lucky like me it might just be the silver bullet.

I know this is dramatic, but this product changed everything for me. I have extremely dry skin and had cystic acne for years. I assumed that I could never use things like glycolic acid with dry skin. But using this every night cleared up my cystic acne an unbelievable amount AND made my skin feel less dry overall. I genuinely think that a lot of my cystic acne/congestion came from dry and dead skin cells that weren’t sloughing off properly. After spending so much money and time on other products, I can’t believe that one cheap product was the answer all along.

This product is literally the whole package in one bottle. It works for literally everything. It took a few months for this to get working on me and I did purge for a while but after a few weeks I saw improvement on my acne, blackheads and hyperpigmentation. I used to use this on my face but anymore just beciase I use too many other acid based serums. Now I use it on my body, scalp and armpits and it works wonders. I have a lot of dark spots and acne and small bumps all over my body. I dont see much improvement on the bumps but it does seem to work on the acne and dark spots as as well lighting my under arm area. I would definitely recommend this to others with dry skin and similar problems as me. :)

I have been using this product for about 2 years now. Full transparency, I have a drier skin, so I don't use this super often (maybe once or twice per week), but I definitely see a difference when I use it! I get hormonal breakouts once per month and this is my go-to when I see my skin start to react. It also works great in summer when my skin gets congested from all of the sunscreen and sweat from being outdoors. I use a gentle oil cleanser, exfoliate my skin, and then apply a decent layer of this product. This absorbs quickly, does not irritate or dry out my skin, and I can still apply a moisturizer or makeup over top if needed. When I say that I start to see a noticeable result in my skin about an hour after application- I am not lying. I will continue to be loyal to this product and recommend that even people with fairly dry or sensitive skin give it a try!

Not too tough on my skin but sloughs everything off so my products penetrate!

Excellent exfoliator! I've accidentally left this on for way longer than the recommended 10 minutes without any issues....but I've been using similar products for many years.

I have sensitive, combination to oily skin (Though my face may not be as sensitive as others). This product has helped me with my milia!!! THANK YOU!!! I've been plagued by milia since I was 13, and I could never get rid of them aside from using a sewing needle to extract them :( However, since I started using this product, the amount and resurgence of the milia has decreased, and slowed down or stopped completely on parts of my face. Around my cheekbones and temples, not a lot of milia. Near T-zone and on the cheeks - gone. My skin is a little more smooth, too.I highly recommend that you let this fully dry/absorb into your skin before applying other products, otherwise you might get a little itchy like I did. Have been using niacinamide 10% for 4 years in my daily skin routine. It’s a must purchase.

Started using this along side squaline cleanser. Day 1 & 2 could see clearer much smoother skin,.. then had an eruption of bumps and my typical sebacious lumps , I could see the typical white patches under my skin waiting to erupt. But I checked out lots of reviews and it said some people see their skin go into overdrive but to persevere and I did. 3 weeks in it’s like a mini face lift. No more congestion, my pores have shrunk dramatically allowing my skin to lift. I had deep lines around around my jaw when I smiled and these have reduced. I have had persistent acne for 10 years and facial eczema for 3 years. When I first started using this, my skin reddened and flaked for about a week. Definitely stung on application for about 10 seconds. This stopped after 3 days. The next 3 weeks have been the best my skin has looked in years. All forehead acne has disappeared completely. Cheek acne is fading. Hyperpigmentation is fading. My eczema still needs some medical treatment but there's no doubt this serum is helping with that too. I am in shock. I have tried every skin treatment you can think of - retinoids, azelaic acid, antibiotics, steroids and more, and I am stunned at how uncongested and smooth my skin is looking right now. Absolutely thrilled with the results so far and sad it took me so long to be recommended this serum.

I've been using this niacinamide for about 4 months (AM and PM) and it has made a massive difference to my skin. Along with matrixyl in the AM (followed by HA moisturizer & SPF 50), and in the PM, before buffet, retinal & HA. While the combination of these products are certainly responsible for the change to my skin, I think the Niacinamide is largely responsible for how clear my skin is. A wonderful product that can be used alongside so many other products (except vit c & glycolic), it really plays an invaluable part in my routine. So easy to apply and sinks in really quickly. Absolutely love it! Please don't stop making it!

my sister recommended niacinamid to me as for some reason i had developed few but consistent skin blemishes, now idk if it is niacinamid in every product but the ordinary nicacinamid to me was truly a miracle cure. if you are desperate and can't explain where this is coming from (i even was prescribed acne medication, just to show how desperate i was) you should give it a try.

I bought this 3 months ago and I am so happy with its always had very visible pores on my nose that I would mask with foundation but I can honestly go without it now. I work in mining and my skin is exposed to dust and heat daily but with a gentle cleanse and this serum every 2-3 nights my skin feels so much cleaner and easier to maintain!

This product is fantastic, but using it daily is definitely not a good idea. Ordinary needs to change that. After working hard or consuming a lot of caffeine, you can feel your face pulsating, as if your cheeks have their own separate hearts. I only use it once every two weeks. I wish Ordinary would come out with a lower dose of Glycolic acid. It’s just a bit too much for me, but this product is truly amazing for treating teenager acne. It’s unclogged all my whiteheads. I highly recommend it, but be careful not to use it too frequently.

I use this daily. It has made the difference between being broken out and having clear skin! Just wish it came in a bigger bottle.

I love this product. So gentle but so affective. I really notice a difference in my skin with blemish reduction and also other skin flare-ups. The price is also a big winner. Only sown side is I dont seem to be able to to get it in the 120ml any more :(

I bought this about three weeks ago, it's my first product ever from The Ordinary. I got it after hearing from a friend who liked it so much. I used to struggle with intense cystic acne, and last year I started isotretinoin to treat it. About 3 months ago I finally saw my last pimple and I'm glad to say that worked out for me. But even though I no longer have acne, I have scars and hyperpigmentation left behind that I'm eager to get rid of. I've been using it every 2-3 days, as part of my night time routine. The marks on my right cheek have almost completely disappeared! The left have significantly improved and hopefully will be gone soon too. My skin is also less oily and my skin tone is very even. Friends and family have been complementing me on how glowy my skin looks too. Some people experience some irritation on this but I have not at all. No burning, or redness thankfully. Just incredible results. Its made me purchase more products from The Ordinary!

In the past I used this product for my hormonal acne. Now, it used my son on his teen acne. He love it too.
