I mix this with my vit C as together they give a mutual antioxidant and brightening boost. You have to remember TO products pack a punch so two/three drops is plenty
I've been using The Ordinary's Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% serum for three weeks now. I didn't have high expectations. I simply knew these ingredients were antioxidants, so I hoped it would help combat pollution and sun damage. My skin has definitely brightened and has a healthy glow. As someone with dry skin, this is a huge plus. The serum has a fluid, easy-to-spread texture that absorbs quickly. I love the subtle, botanical scent. I've noticed an improvement in my skin tone and hyperpigmentation. The serum has also helped calm my rosacea-prone skin. Despite layering it with other products in my nighttime routine, it hasn't caused any pilling or flaking. Overall, Iโve been quite happy with this serum. Itโs effective, affordable, and gentle on my skin.
I love this product. My skin looks brighter every day! I use it AM after cleaning my face and let it dry. I like how this product feels on my face. For me it works like essential vitamins for my skin.Thank you, The Ordinary, for another great product!
I love it. For me it's not a product you get too see drastic results, but rather to protect yourself from new injuries. I also don't know how much of my skin progression I can attribute to this 1 product because I use 2-3 other more, but I can definitely say that it does make my complexion smoother and brighter right after I put it on. I put it on in the morning and blend it with my sunblock and leaves my skin bright, moisturized and ready to tackle the day's free radicals!
I use this product morning and night now. I love it so much. I have acneic, sensitive 30-year old skin, and this stuff is fabulous. It keeps my skin calm and gives me a lovely glow. In the evening I use this in combination with the Ordinary Glycolic Acid and 5% Retinoid in Squalene + various moisturizing factors, and in the mornings I simply focus on protecting my skin from the environment. I find that I almost never have to use my La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo (which I had been using nightly) since incorporating this into my regimen.
I'm little bit confused on this product- from what I am reading it cannot be used *before* any products with water as an ingredient. I also purchased the Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% (I think the two without water were out of stock at the time)- someone below is mixing them together and I thought you should't do that? Also want to clarify that if I apply the Resveratrol and Ferulic AFTER all products with water, that it's will be okay (or whether should just do another night) - thanks! Hoping the company will respond!
Love it. I have dry skin, with a tendency toward flakiness, sensitivity, and have eczema prone eyes. I have been using this product AM and PM, all over face and eyelids, every day for two years. I find it helps calm my skin even during eczema flare-ups. It feels like an oil going on but absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling dewy--which in my case is exactly what I want.
Can't believe I just found your products. Although the resveratrol + ferulic acid serum goes on slightly oily, that's not a deal breaker. After 1 week my skin definitely have more of a healthy glow and the pores do look smaller. I use this with vitamin C serum in the morning and the niacinamide with buffet in the evening. Just wished vitamin E was also part of this formulation. Amazing job, definitely coming back for more :D
I LOVE all of your products. This one is strong no doubt. So I may have done something I should not have done. I mix it with my Vitamin C serum (so sorry this one isn't yours), matryxl, marula oil, Survival 0. Now I'm thinking maybe it doesn't play the best with all of this mixed together? It feels great and not too strong, so I'm hoping it's ok. Let me know?
I use this product and have for over 3 weeks. It goes on light and fluid ..it has a oily feel at first. It soaks in completely. My skin has never had any reaction nor has it irritated my skin in any way. I apply it at bedtime. I would say my skin has a rosy glow about 20 mins. after soaking in. In the morning my skin looks amazing.
I've used this for years. I combine it with Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F to get an even better version of the very expensive CE ferulic serum that's out there. And this one doesn't smell like bacon!
I just started using TO this fall and was so excited that this was finally in stock! This product is incredible, and a couple of drops is enough for my whole face. I love how versatile it is in regards to combining with other products, especially both Vit C and Retinol, and that I can use it morning and night, I combine it with the Vit C 23%, and I would love to know if layering it before or after the Vitamin C is best for effectiveness and absorption?
I love this product. I have been using it for a week on my sensitive/reactive skin, and I could swear it is noticeably smoother, softer and more glowy. Two (small) issues though: 1) It feels a bit oily for about an hour (and I'm using a tiny bit!), therefore I have to apply it at night, because I wouldn't have time to let it absorb in the morning before putting on makeup. 2) It burns! It's become bearable now after a week of use, but the first few days, I was red as a lobster. Because of the superb results, I'm glad I stuck with the regimen, but I hope the uncomfordable sensation will go away completely. I wanted to combine this product with the 30% Vitamin C suspension, but I'm concerned it will burn the cr*p out of my skin. :'( Any other Vitamin C serum you can recommend that would be compatible with the Resveratrol serum for a one-step routine, but that wouldn't burn my face into a crisp? Thanks.
For reference: My skin type is oily combination, prone to dehydration, dealing with hormonal cystic and nodular acne for ~10 years. I don't really leave reviews but I'm putting one here for this product because I am so taken aback by the fact it has ACTUALLY HAD A VISIBLE IMPROVEMENT. I bought this a while ago on a whim out of curiosity, but didn't give it more than a couple of uses of and on as -although it did seem to 'wake my skin up' - I found the initial oily finish off-putting and having had some unpleasant breakouts from other oil-based The Ordinary products I was kind of wary of having similar breakouts from this. HOWEVER - 2 weeks ago I put it on on the weekend because my skin was looking and feeling dehydrated and generally 'bleh' after some heavy cystic break-outs, and kept applying it each day (AM and PM) as the final step in my routine and its really made a noticeable difference - although not in the way I was expecting. Since applying it regularly, my skin has been less oily throughout the day (we're talking maybe blotting once at midday instead of having to blot 3-4 times), and my makeup has stayed in place the whole day (pre-resveratrol my skin has usually shed most of my makeup by mid-morning). The oiliness of the product sinks in after a couple of minutes and my skin just feels hydrated and balanced - like its shifted from 'Oily-Combination' towards 'Normal'. As well as the reduced oil, my skin has generally had more of a lit-from-within glow and translucency that I have never really had before. (Don't get me wrong, my PIH, acne scarring are still present, but I now feel like my skin looks like it does on the models you see used for spot treatment adverts, where they have acne scarring but their skin looks Glowy and Good - anyone who has had cystic acne will know this feels like a Big Deal). I've also noticed a reduction on the amount of redness/ uneven skin tone, and it feels good to come home from work and have my skin looking as fresh as it did when I first did my skincare that morning. I'm still trying to figure out how/ why it is introducing this product in particular that has reduced my oiliness - whether it prevents the other products I apply from oxidising, meaning they're effective for longer (?), or whether the antioxidants just help my skin function better in general, meaning less sebum is needed to try and compensate for moisture loss throughout the day (?). This is quite a long review for a small bottle, but having had a proper dedicated skincare routine for 5 years now, it feels like a pretty big deal to be seeing effects this early on into trying a product I had put in the 'Waste of Money' pile. The only reason I haven't given this product 5 stars is because I haven't used it for a particularly long time) (AM skincare - TO Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, TO 'Buffet' , Cerave Dry skin Moisturiser, Resveratrol + Ferulic Acid mixed with a generic SPF 50 from Boots. ) (PM skincare - Nip+Fab AHA toner every other day, TO Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, TO 'Buffet' , Cerave Dry skin Moisturiser, Resveratrol + Ferulic Acid)
I got it around a month ago and carefully introduced it to my skincare routine after patch testing. I canโt really explain why exactly but it made my skin felt smooth and moistured directly after I started using it, it was glowing and looked so fresh! BUT I started noticing some itchy bumps that were developing on my checks and forehead that were really hard to get rid of.. so I started using it on only one side of the face, and these bumps slowly disappeared from the other side. Sadly I had to stop using it at all (as my wedding is soon and I want to look as good as possible). Besides these strange allergy this product is wonderful! My skin looked really wake and alive. I donโt know why exactly I developed such a reaction and hope maybe someday in the future I could use it again to get all the benefits.
I've been trying to figure out the perfect anti-aging regimen for my skin so I've been experimenting with lots of The Ordinary products over the past year. I have to say that this is one of my favorites!! My skin is very dry so i'm always looking for products that help moisturize without being too oily. This stuff makes my feel so hydrated and almost velvety. I use morning and night after putting on my other products. My morning routine = Marine Hyaluronics, Lactic Acid 5%, The Buffet...followed by a few drops Resveratrol & Ferulic Acid - which I let sink in for a few minutes then I finish up with Cera Ve cream. Night routine = Tretenoin followed up with a few drops Resveratrol & Ferulic Acid - which I let sink in for a few minutes then I finish up with Cera Ve cream. I've only been using for a few weeks and I feel that my skin texture had improved. My pores look smaller and overall I look more moisturized / dewy. I think it's important to remember that a little bit goes a long way with this product. I could see using too much as being too oily. I only use 3-4 small drops for my face and neck area each time. If you have dry skin I'd definitely recommend giving this a try!
I have been using Resveratrol for only 8 days and I have to say that I am amazed at how different my skin is starting to look. Due to hormonal changes, my hyperpigmentation from acne is fading fast. As the directions state, it should be mixed with other treatments to enhance its antioxidant capacity, I am mixing it with a Vitamin C brightening Serum to enhance it and it is doing its job. I am loving this product!
Really helps brighten my complexion and hydration. I mix a couple of drops with the moisturising factors goes on like a dream. I have extremely acne prone skin and have had no problems.
Really been liking this so far, I mix it with the Vit C powder, but as its hard to mix in the same amount I added some powder directly into the bottle. It feels like a thin oil and takes a second to absorb but once I add my Spf or moisturizer on top its fine. Til now I haven't experienced any bad reaction and I love that I now have Antioxidant and Vit C in my regimen
Iโve been using the Reservatrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% mixed with my vitamin C (either 23 suspension in HA) or the ATS in Vitamin F - depending on how sensitive my skin is). I use it after my Buffet and before my moisturizer / sunscreen. I have been using it every day for about 3 weeks or so and I have notice significant visible results! My Vit. C seems to work better and my skin is smoother and brighter. I am absolutely thrilled at the results. I was a bit worried after reading some reviews that it might be too harsh for my skin but I have never had an issue and I love it!
Awesome product. Was wondering if I could mix this with the 100% L ascorbic powder? DECIEM Response: We're so happy to hear that you are loving The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%. Yes, you may! The LAA powder must not be mixed with any products containing EUK 134 or Niacinamide. To ensure freshness and to prevent any oxidation, it is preferable to immediately use after mixing especially when mixed with water-based products. The quantity of powder can be adjusted based on tolerance, we recommend using between a quarter to half a scoop mixed in with 5-10 drops of serum or a pea-dime size of emulsion based products. I bought this product before reading others reviews and saw how many people said that it made their skin rashy, dry, and even blister. I was nervous to try this, so I spot tested it on my neck. It did burn a little and left a small red spot for a short while. I bought it to mix with my L-Ascorbic acid powder. I mix 2 drops of Marula oil from Drunk elephant & this product with a little of the powder and it feels awesome on the skin and is brightening my skin & acne spots! Make sure you delude this product with an oil to help ensure your skin doesnโt react.
I have dry, very reactionary skin and rosacea, so I'm always very cautious about introducing new products. I'm really surprised by all the reviews saying this was drying. I bought it for antioxidant protection, but was shocked when it was the only product that finally made my bone-dry skin super moist, supple and dewy. I spent all winter trying every possible oil, serum, thick cream and even petroleum jelly. Nothing worked. HA just made my skin drier. This has been a godsend. Not sure if it's the carrier that makes it so emollient? It gave a definite tingling/warming sensation the first few times I used it, but it never actually caused irritation, and that sensation only lasted for a few applications. I use it with a Vitamin C and E serum and my skin always looks great the next morning. I won't ever be without this now!
O!M!G!!!!!!!! This product is an amazing new continent!! It reduces finelines and at the meantime lock up moisture. Love it love it love it!!!!! DECIEM Response: We're sending lots of love back to you Ada! โค
I received my Reservatrol 3% a month ago, I began to use it after my buffet and hyaluronic acid, it worked well, yet, I thought a little bit greasy for me...but, still fine. Yesterday, I decided to combine it with my Vitamin C 23% ....OMG! My skin is glowing, it looks years younger and my pores (most of them) have disappear. I though, this products can not surprise me any more with their results.... wrong! They can.
Much stronger than you realise. Donโt use it without good Vit C suspension. Suffering consequences ๐ฅ
I have normal to dry ageing skin. The resveratrol is great, it has a heavy oily feel but it sinks in. No issues. I rotate it with the other products.
I just started using this after I had let my skin acclimate to TO Ethylated Ascorbic Acid 15%. I love that product, I was comparing it side by side with my previous Vitamin C and noticed that my skin felt less sticky, caused no irritation, was less expensive, and still gave me the results I wanted. So when I decided to use the Vitamin C from TO on my entire face I added this. I start with TO Pycnogenal and after applying I mix together TO Ethylated Ascorbic Acid and TO Resveratrol + Ferulic Acid. Instantly I could feel the difference. It was the only item in my very intense skincare routine that had changed, and yet fight after application I could feel how much softer my skin was. No irritation, even post TO AHA BHA peel the night prior. I could buy $166 Vitamin CE F (C, E, Ferulic) from an overpriced source for 30 mL, or I can make my own for $26 and have twice as much, as well as a product that is incredibly shelf stable. Do yourself a favor and buy this, TO Ethylated Ascorbic Acid, and TO Pycnogenal. Together they make a powerful team.
I bought this 4 days ago to add to my simple acne routine. I have struggled with cystic acne for 5 years now and this product is a God-send, especially paired with a benezoyl peroxide cream. My skin cleared up literally within 2 days on this.
I have mature (40+), fair, sensitive, acne-prone, oily skin. I have been using this off and on for a while and have decided I like it enough to include it in my routine. In hopes of controlling my acne, I have to use either a SA wash and or TO's SA serum. I will often do this in the PM and then apply their 12% vit C derivative in the AM along with their Niacinamide. The two do not negate one another. Every so often, I will add a few drops of the R3FA3 to my face lotion. Because I have acne prone oily skin, I don't use copious amounts of moisturizer (the regular CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion for Normal to Dry Skin). I tolerate this one well. Again, I just add a couple of drops to a single pump of this lotion and apply it to my face and neck before I apply my sunscreen. Sometimes, I will apply this at night after my SA, again diluting it a little into my lotion to increase its benefits. I try not to use it every day else I find I will break out a little. Not sure if it is the intensity of the product (needing to be diluted more) or if I'm applying it too soon after other products. I just try to keep my routine simple and light. If I feel like something is starting to cause a reaction, I'll cut back on using it as often. Regardless, I think if you have sensitive skin, it is wise to dilute this with a facial oil and or moisturizer. I seem to tolerate that best. I would also ease this into your routine and not use it daily, especially if you are already using a quality vit c or vit c derivative for your antioxidant needs. I will certainly continue to buy and use this. A note to The Ordinary as a whole. Since using their products alongside my very basic face washes, moisturizer, and sunscreen (I use CeraVe or something akin to being fragrance free and pH balanced and my sunscreen is a high spf water-gel), my skin has never looked better. In the last 6 months, I've gone from having ongoing breakouts and hyperpigmentation to a clear, healthy, glowing complexion. I use their SA (regularly 1x a day PM), their 12% vit c (regularly 1x a day AM), this R3F3 (diluted
I stopped using this, for a while, because I got red allergy bumps from it. BUT my mother's skin loves it. She uses various skin care products and high quality supplements... but the 23% Vit C in HA combined with this serum has been a key step for her. She's nearly 80 and pale, so it's not like she just naturally has perfect skin. Most of us work at it and she's looking great. I stood next to her in daylight, the other day, and I was blown away by how healthy and smooth her skin looks. Be consistent. I have now tried this, again, and now I'm loving it, too. DECIEM Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to share this incredible feedback with us! We're so happy to hear that you and your mother are loving everything so far.
Really great product, I had a breakout due to trialling a face cleansing device and purchased and applied this. Instantly noticed my face feeling brighter. Although, after a few days I felt my skin tightening a little and a couple of sore / irritation spots around my forehead then researched online for best ways to use this product on skin of colour. Purchased the 100% Squalane oil to use as a base oil to dilute and my skin felt much better. Two drops of carrier oil and one of this antioxidant works well for me as a dilution. Wonderful product, can't wait to see the long term benefits!
Loving this product so far. I have also ordered Ascorbic Acid + Alpha arbutin, and I am just wondering whether it is a good idea to mix the two together? DECIEM Response: We're so happy to hear that you are enjoying The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%. It is always recommended to use products as per label directions. Our products come with disclaimers of when two actives are not to be mixed. As a general rule, be mindful with highly acidic products or treatment strength products. I absolutely love this product. It only comes natural that i do, since I researched all my The Ordinary purchases very well before placing an order. At the moment, I apply lipoic acid after my hyaluronic acid and follow it with Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% and one of the ascorbic acid solutions, either 23% or 30% , pea size amount. My skin is always glowing and plumped the next few days. I know that constant use imparts a very serious anti aging effect DECIEM Response: Hi Cristina! This is so wonderful to hear, thank you so much for sharing!
While I'm very happy with my basic drug skin care routine, it's noticeably missing anti-oxidants of any kind. I had been using a $150 anti-oxidant serum from another line in an effort to provide what I'd been missing out on, but when it ran out of that serum, I knew I wasn't going to fork over another $150 to replenish it. That price is ridiculous. Enter theOrdinary and Resveratrol/Ferulic Acid. I use it once a day, in the evening, by adding 2-3 drops into my lightweight, non-active PM moisturizer. It's been a week now. Skin looks fantastic and there have been no reactions, so this is a definite keeper. Next up: Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%. Thank you DECIEM! :)
So far so good I suppose? I'm not sure what exactly this product is meant to do. I got it because I was hoping for it to clear up some annoying bumps on my forehead. I've been using it for about a week now, but I'm not really noticing anything, so I'm not sure what (if anything) it is accomplishing. It is a bit sticky while drying, but it dries very smooth and soft when it's totally dryI'm not having issues though (no breakouts, no irritation, or anything), so I'll definitely be continuing to ude it!
I love the product! it's working really good on my skin. I notice the difference in the skin tone as I have to use a foundation with a shade lighter than before I use this serum. And my forehead and smile lines seem to be less noticeable. However, as a precaution, I only used it night time in my first week and I was right because when I tried to use it am and pm later, my skin feels a little tight and so I use the ordinary 100% plant-derived squalane to soothe the skin. So now I only use it at night time and even just once a day for about 4-5 weeks I started to see the improvement of my skin. P.S. I use this as a serum after the water-based skincare then I finish with either with the gel-like moisturiser on a humid day or the plant-derived squalane when my skin feels dry. I also wait about 2 months before writing this review just to make sure that I can feel and see the difference after use.
I love this serum. It smooths on beautifully on its own or with my vitamin c. I have had a for over a week and my skin looks so much plumper, more even toned and just all around healthier. To me this applies with the same texture and feel of the retinol in squalane.
As I've begun to add anti-aging products to my regime, I started this product to boost my antioxidants. So far, so good! The days I use it, my skin seems more glowly and refreshed. I don't think I've had consistent enough use to see noticable long term results. My face does feel warmer more easily the days I use it (which has kept me from daily use). I'm wondering: should I use this at night, during day, or does it matter? I read that antioxidants should be used before going out, but I'm not sure. DECIEM Response: We're happy to hear you're enjoying the results of Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%. You are welcome to use this formula daily, and it may be applied AM or PM as per your preference. Thank you for your review.
I really really love this product. I am 25 and have some pimples on my forehead an chin. When I use this pm my skin looks a lot clearer and the pimples are gone away just two days after application. But i use it just pm because it is to oily for the day under my make up but this ist totally ok :) @DECIEM: I also use the PC Retinol Booster 1% pm and would like to know, if I can mix this two products or should i use the Retinol Booster first, wait 2 minutes and than apply the Resveratol/Ferulic Serum? Or should I don't use this togheter? Thank you for your help :) DECIEM Response: So happy to hear you're enjoying โบ Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to comment on the pairing of our products with those of other brands and/or prescription medications.
