This stuff is incredible. Been using it for a few months and Iโve seen a big difference. Iโve always had dark circles and they are actually lightening for the first time in my life. Itโs wild. And I know vitamin C doesnโt claim to reduce blackheads but after I started using this serum, my blackheads have looked better than ever before. Most of them are gone and the ones that are visible are so much lighter. Itโs amazing. And my skin just feels soft and brand new. Itโs the best product in my whole skincare regimen.
The product gives an instant glow thanks to a layer of shine. I don't know how to describe it, so I put a picture of my hand, where you can see the edges of the product. The product ist completely dry on the picture! I really like the shine even though I feel like it gets lost after I apply my moisturizer. Anyhow the layer might feel odd to some. Personally I don't mind it and the feeling also goes away after applying moisturizer
Iโve been through a few different vitamin cโs from the Ordinary - I loved the silicone suspension, but I found that I felt I had to use more product than I wanted to. I switched to the EAA 15%, but it was just so oily even if I let it dry, waited, moisturized, etc, that I couldnโt do it. This stuff has a much better feeling on the skin - lighter, slightly tacky but nothing to be concerned about. Highly recommend if youโre not a fan of other formulations from the brand - this is the lightest one Iโve tried.
Holy crap this stuff is amazing! I have been using a few The Ordinary products for a few months (niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, resveratol, retinol, and moisturizing factor) and my skin has been much better- fewer breakout and less oily, and the breakouts I do get heal quickly. But once I added this product into my routine, my skin looks better than it has since before puberty! My skin isnโt covered in tiny bumps, itโs bright and youthful, and it has faded some stubborn acne pigmentation. And this has all happened in less than a month of use. I get no stinging or tingling, I use it in the morning with HA, resveratrol, and moisturizing factor. In the evening I use the niacinamide instead of this and add in the retinol serum.
Iโve been using this for 6 months at night, before moisturiser and my skin is noticeably smoother and brighter. I have had multiple comments saying how glowy my skin looks! The texture is fine, no irritation at all!
I bought this like a couple days ago, to test and try out. It worked perfectly. I recommend getting this ( for oily skin like mine)
I have been using this of a morning, after applying the amino acids + B5. (I also use the natural moisturising factors +HA am and pm, plus the cold pressed borage seed oil pm). I suffer with rosacea and my skin has been sad and red and angry for some time. Applying layers of green concealer underneath my foundation just became second nature to me. After using TO products for a few weeks I could happily leave the house with no foundation at all . I'm assuming this product is largely responsible for the decrease in redness. This has honestly revolutionised my skin.
I am using my first ever bottle that I bought from Cult Beauty. This thing works wonders for the skin. Infact if there are any active pimples it helps shrink them, treat the spots and overall brighten the skin to a great extent. I am especially concerned about one ingredient that is Triethanolamine(Ethanolamine Compound). There are several reports that these are carcinogenic and also might be a Formaldehyde releaser. The Ordinary can you please explain the science behind? It will really help in feeling assured and I can use the product in peace!! Thanks! :)
I love this product! It is very light and non -irritating. Ordinary products are all fantastic. My one question is whether this product can be mixed with resveratrol + Ferulic acid as well as the rosehip oil? I use very small amounts of each so mix them together to make for easier application. DECIEM Response: Yes you may! It is always recommended to use products as per label directions. Our products come with disclaimers of when two actives are not to be mixed. As a general rule, be mindful with highly acidic products or treatment strength products.
I've been using this for a couple of months now, and I think it may have irritated my skin a bit and caused some bumps on my cheeks. I don't use any conflicting products like AHA/BHA or Niacinamide with this, so I know it is not for that reason. This is a great vitamin C product and doesn't sting or feel greasy - it's just not for my skin type!
I have been using it for two months now and: I'm just not impressed. This is my first Vitamin C serum and did barely anything for my skin. I haven't noticed major changes on my skin: not brightness, nor texture improvement, nothing. It didn't cause irritation, but after applying it my face was red.I think I might be moving to a stronger Vit C.
Love love love. I was hesitant to get a vitamin c serum as I have sensitive skin and thought I might react. I read the vitamin c guide and thought this would be the best to not have it sting or irritate my skin and still be able to see results. It is amazing! It evens out my skin tone and has got rid of a lot of the red patches I have from my acne. I am so much more confident now! I use a full dropper of this on my face in the PM and I also use the niacinamide and zinc serum in the AM. I have been using them for a month now and I'm already in love. When mine runs out I am definitely repurchasing. It seemed a bit daunting at first as all of the product names are very technical but the guide on the website helped so much and I am now a bit of a skincare geek! I love that they don't make wild claims and that the active ingredients are the main focus. I really want to add the salicylic acid and glycolic acid toner to my routine but I'm not sure where to add it in my routine/how long I should wait. (I am crossing my fingers that the salicylic acid comes back in stock soon! *wink wink*) DECIEM Response: We're so happy to hear that you are loving The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%. If you wish to incorporate multiple Vitamin C's, Retinoids, and/or Direct Acids into your skincare regimen, we suggest using them on alternate evenings and waiting until your skin has adjusted to one before introducing another .Please don't hesitate to reach out to our team via DECIEM.com/contact with any further questions or concerns you may have.ย โค
SO FAR SO GOOD! I am new to using vitamin C and learned about this brand from youtube Nadine Baggot. After reading all the ordinary information in the vitamin c guide, I determined this would be the easiest to use while still receiving results. As someone who uses prescription tretinion for acne, I wanted to avoid stinging and this is perfect!!! I use this daily am and only on nights when I dont use my tretinoin cream. I have had no negative affects! I get small breakouts here and there so this seems to be helping the fading of those scars but Its hard to be sure since tretinoin fades spots too. Overall, I do think its fading my spots faster than before so I will keep using it. It is a light formula that is slightly sticky if I apply too much, but adding cream fixes this perfectly. I do try to wait 15 seconds before adding anything else so it can be absorbed properly. This also goes so well with the squalene and hyaluranic acid & B5! Thank you Ordinary for an affordable product that works!
slightly sticky but definitely love this stuff... is it okay to use with EUK134?
Ok so I haven't seen this combo up yet...please let me know if this is a good mix and if you'd change the order of anything or add or subtract. AM Cleanser Buffet (Ph 4.5-5.5/Water based) Niacinamide 10%+Zinc 1% (Ph 5.5-6.5/water based) 100% Plant Derived Squalane (no Ph listed/Oil) Sunscreen PM Cleanser Glycolic Acid Toner (Ph 3.5-3.7/Water based) Buffet (Ph 4.5-5.5/Water Based) Ascorbyl Glucoside 12% (Ph 6-7/ Water based) 100% Plant Derived Squalane ( no Ph listed/Oil) DECIEM Response: Hi Candice! This routine looks great! โค
I have tried so many Vitamin C (LAA and Ascorbic Acid) but always stings and burn anything that is above 10% until the day i found The Ordinary Absorbyl Glucoside. At first application it does feel tacky but not when u wait few minutes for it to absorb, i have a very dry super sensitive skin from long term usage of tropical steroid cream and ended up with a very thin layer on my face at age 38. My face glows every morning since i use it day and night from using it for about a month. You may not like it because it's not LAA or AA but this serum did manage to keep my skin happy, glowy and non irritant. Would love to purchase it again once the bottle finish. Thank you for making me feel much more confident with myself.
Has worked really well for me! I've been using it for a while now in my little routine (i use this in the morning with the multi-peptides serum, and for the evening granactive retinoid) and ive seen a big decrease in my hyperpigmentation marks, with no irritation or break-outs/purging! :)
I had pretty low expectations but this gives such a great glow, I feel confident going without makeup
I bought this product a few months ago and have been using it since then. I am very impressed by this product. It was suggested to me by the Deciem regime builder. It makes my skin look very bright and removes dullness. I pair it with Marine Hyaluronics every morning and they have been my go to products for having a clear, hydrated, bright skin. Would definitely recommend it.
I would definitely recommend this serum. It works from day 1. My skin looks amazing! Definitely I would repurchase again.
I love this serum so much. It does its job very well. My skin looks so bright after I use it. It works well in combination with other serums.
I was very hyped with this vit C product because I made some actual research and thought it would interact well with my skin. After using it for some days, I experienced my sebaceous glands very activated and a lot of oil on there. I accomplished reducing it before but it's kicked in again. So I don't know if it's this product or just my skin but I'm not gonna use it anymore. I'll try to purchase The Ordinary Salicylic Acid serum. Is there any kind of devolution process? Thank you. I love this brand. DECIEM Response: We're sorry to hear you were not fully satisfied with The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%. It's important to note that with any active ingredient that affects skin behaviour, there can be an initial purging period during which breakouts are normal. It is also important to note that when introducing new products and sciences into your regimen, your skin may require up to a month to adjust. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate in reaching out to us via DECIEM.com/contact.
I've never written a review, yet here I am. This stuff has transformed my skin. I read that combining this form of vitamin C with Niacinamide does wonderful things. I have SUPER sensitive and acne prone skin (in my 60s!!). Within 3 days (no joke), my skin looked brighter and plumper. Since I started using this (over a month now), I have had zero (ZERO!) acne. I hope it continues and my skin won't "adjust" to its old, former self. WOW, just WOW. I find it feels oily even though it states it is water based, so I put the niacinamide on first, then this, then my spf moisturizer. Did I say WOW?!!!
I really like this product. makes my skin look brighter!
I love the feel of my skin when i added this to may daily routine. It added my moisture and softness to my skin.
I love this product and can really see the difference it has made to my hyperpigmentation. However, I find it impossible to finish a bottle within the 6 months usage period, even though I use a generous amount twice a day, which seems terribly wasteful. Surely it would be better to produce a smaller sized bottle or increase the stability of the product so that it lasts longer than 6 months? Not a complaint, just a suggestion :-)
It was nice, but nothing earth-shattering. I paired it with Pycnogenol 5% in the mornings, but I think that Pycnogenol did more for my skin than Ascorbyl Glucoside. But I've never gotten much results from vit C or its derivatives, so it could just be me and this might work for you better. It was nice to use though, it was easy to apply and my skin tolerated it well.
This is a great product and I've noticed my skin change in just a few weeks of use. It goes on easily and dries quickly. I just wish it was in a formulation that lacked triethanolamine (TEA). TEA is on the lists of cosmetic ingredients to avoid because it is potentially carcinogenic. I hope it is less than 5% concentration, as I leave the product on my skin overnight then wash it off in the morning. Next time, I will search for a vitamin C that lacks any of the "dirty dozen" ingredients
Great product for making skin luminous and reducing scars and blemishes. It looks noticeably brighter. Is ETHYLATED ASCORBIC ACID 15% SOLUTION a better Vit c serum than this?Thx DECIEM Response: Thanks so much for your review! We wouldn't say one Vitamin C serum is better than another :-)
I just received my ordinary products including Niacinamide, ascorbyl glucoside sol 12% and glycolic acid toner. They are working good for me so far.I m confused that how should I do layering?I m using niacinamide in AM and Ascorbyl Glucoside in PM but dont know which moisturizer is best after applying these serums. And also, glycolic acid toner is useful before both the serums ?I was using neutrogena hydro boost gel earlier as moisturizer. Is hydro boost water based gel moisturizer good to use after niacinamide and Ascorbyl Glucoside? Please if anyone can answer my question, it will be really helpful. I've been using this product for a little over a month. I use a few drops on my face and neck every morning and most evenings. It's a little sticky at first, but if I take a moment to pat it into my skin, it absorbs and dries down quickly. My skin looks a little brighter, and some of my post-acne marks have faded. I wouldn't call it a miracle product, but it is pretty effective without being one bit harsh or irritating, which is more than good enough for me. My Mom uses and likes it, as well.
I'm on my second bottle of this and will continue to purchase. I love that it's a watery consistency and not an oil. I'm 62 and still have combo/oily skin so more oil is the last thing I need or want. Since using this on a regular basis under my daily SPF, I've noticed some hyperpigmentation that's fading very well! My skin is clearer and I've just been more impressed with it lately! I'm using this in conjunction with the Multi-Antioxidant Radiance serum and I've been blown away.
Everytime I run out and want to reorder what I want is either out of stock or discontinued. Time to research other product lines. I donโt mind paying more for accessibility.
Purchase 2 bottles. Open 1st bottle and the serum was a brown color with dark brown specks inside the bottle. Open the second bottle and it was the same. Is this the normal color?
I use tretinoin for acne and anti-aging and if you're also using tret you're aware of how other skincare products don't always play nice with it. My experience with The Ordinary's Pycnogenol was a disaster and I wonder why I ever strayed from this. It's gentle on the skin, helps with sun damage and hyperpigmentation, and pairs well with Tretinoin. Unlike l-ascorbic acid serums its also very stable and DOESN'T SMELL. Every L-AA serum I've used smelled weird, like hot dog water (it isn't just the ferulic acid often incorporated into it). I just CANT deal with the hot dog water smell and this thankfully has no scent.
Iโve been using this product for about 6 weeks now. I wasnโt big on my skincare routine before, just a cleanser and moisturiser. Now I have a full routine in place with The Ordinary and I wouldnโt go back. Iโve seen a huge difference in my skin and other people have commented too. This has made my skin so much brighter and has really evened out my tone. Between this and the other products in my regime, my complexion is clear, my skin is brighter and it feels fully moisturised. I havenโt worn a bit of make up in 4 weeks and I previously never left the house without it.
I used to buy this product from 2019 where it was only around $7 the fact that itโs now almost $20 is crazy to me. This is the only thing that helps my skin and this company has been taking advantage of increasing their pricing every few months. Itโs honestly embarrassing and I love this brand but you guys no longer portray affordable skincare.
The product itself seems to work well for my skin (Dry-sensitive), leaving it smooth and glassy, which a reduction in the appearance of sunspots. HOWEVER, be careful using this at night/bed time. It has left black bleach marks all over my white pillowcases and sheets from it rubbing off my face onto the fabric. I can confirm this also happened to another pair of sheets at a hotel I was staying at, where I was using the product.
I bought this product a few months ago after switching from the 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder. I switched to the Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% as it is an indirect Vitamin C product which allowed me to combine it with a lot of other products. I have definitely noticed my skin becoming clearer in terms of texture and become more radiant, less dull. I will continue to use this product. If you have oily or normal skin, I would recommend this product. If you have dry skin like my fiance, I would recommend the Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F. Please remember you can't use this with Niacinamide products.
I've tried both Vitamin C suspensions in the tubes from this brand and neither really worked for me, but I saw this one and decided to give it a try even though I'm pretty unfamiliar with it. It works SO WELL! I used to have a somewhat dark PIH mark on my chin from a regularly appearing cystic acne spot, but this serum has faded it to practically nothing! The few light scar marks I've had on my cheeks from a terrible bout of acne a few years ago have all but disappeared and my skin looks brighter and more even. The texture is nice and absorbs well on my skin, it layers well with my moisturizer, and I've had no stinging or reaction to it.
