The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion 30ml

This serum is great, I'm not new to retinol but since my skin is very dry I like to take it easy with retinoids. This formula is amazing, I can use up to 3 nights a week and no irritation follows. The results are immediate, my skin is glowing and more refined. So great, keep it up!!

I started using this on my decollotage and face 2 weeks ago - it's amazing! The emulsion formulation sinks right into my skin with no greasy feel. My skin is glowy. For under $10 this product is the bomb!

This product is amazing. I have very sensitive skin, and I’ve tried differin at first because people said it’s more gentle than tretinoin. I kept using it even though it caused my face to break out horribly, thinking it was just the purging phase. After over 13 weeks of it, I quit, thinking I will never try any form of that product again. I’ve bought this without really expecting much, and chose the emulsion over squalane as it is weaker, and it has not caused any purging and/or breakouts. My skin is now showing some radiance, and I’m loving it. I do wish the company can make this in a stronger dosage. My skin doesn’t like squalane unfortunately. Best retinol serum in a very nice watery (not oily at all) texture. It sinks into your skin fast and easily, leaving no residues at all.

Knocked off a star because the purging phase w this product was the worst possible for 3 weeks. Aside from a nine star, this has done me wonders on my skin. This is my first retinoid and used it every night so i can get over the purging phase a lot faster.. I am pretty much clear, currently having one popule breakout (probably because of my period) near my hairline. I just started with my second bottle of this retinoid and i can't wait for a long lasting result. Aside from these red marks, my skin feels baby soft, clear, and I am almost two months in. The purge however made it look like i had severe acne but I was glad to stick through this product and now I am going to have an IPL session to remove most of my redmarks out. I don't expect all out of it, but enough where it isn't so visible. Anyway, anyone starting this retinoid specifically and is acne-prone, remember that the purging stage is going to be one of the worst moments in your life clearing acne. Highly recommend to always patch test if you are planning to start at a high concentration retinoid. I would encourage anyone starting retinoid, especially those whos never used actives before to start at the lowest concentration retinol. But if you want to deal weeks of purging(like me because I wanted this for myself), then you can start right ahead on this one.

I have oily skin and I use Niacinamide followed by this product than the natural moisturizing factors and it makes my face look so amazing, I haven't noticed much difference in anything else other than when I put it on and wake up but no difference in dark spots, wrinkles etc.

I request, really LOVE this product. I am prone to acne breakouts and having this is my routine has made my skin after controlling my acne breakouts with other products from your company (lactic acid and the toning solution helped immensely for those with acne prone skin) it leaves a nice finish after of soft and smooth. Now the negative: I am so upset that after ordering it once and falling in love with it - all of your granactive retinoid treatments are not available for shipping in my area?! Part of the reason I love that your company is free shipping after $25 and I don't have to go to a . It is / was extremely convenient. Please revise this!! I love this product, no irritation and I'm positive I can see some improvement to my skin after finishing my first bottle using in conjunction with acids and Niacinamide and will definitely be buying more! I would just like to ask, what is the difference between the Granactive Retinoid 2% Emultion and the Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane in regards to potency, effectiveness and irritation?I'd like to try the 5% in Squalane if it is more potent and effective in anti-ageing but the 2% Emultion says it has a sustained delivery form of pure Retinol, does this mean that it perhaps has the same effectiveness as the 5%? I absolutely love this product! I've only used it for a week and I can already see the bumps on my forehead going away. I still have a little bit of acne, but this has definitely help.

Great price and didnt make my sensitive skin break out. However it never seemed to sink in and I felt like most of it ended up on my pillow even if I applied it several hours before bed. Skin was definately soft the next day but I hated the oily feeling at night. I've switched to the hylamide subq serum and natural moisturing factors + ha and my skin feels as soft the next day without the unpleasant greasinenes at night. I used the leftover to moisturize a second degree burn I have on my stomach (approx 3yrs old) and I'm not sure if there's been much change in the colour but the scar texture is gone and it's very smooth. The great thing about TO and hylamide products is the prices are so reasonable so you can do a lot of trial and error to find the right regimen for you. And even if the products dont work for your face sometimes there's other areas of the body they work on. If you like face oils I would still reccomend this one even though it wasnt the best for me personally. Love this product! Only just started using but I love the feel and hope it will help with fine lines and hyperpigmentation. This was an amazing product – gentle yet so effective! I will miss it terribly. Will you make a range of retinol emulsions? I would be so into that. I absolutely love it! I put it on at night after I cleanse my face. I put it on top of the Niacinamide and under my moisturizer (Recommended by a Deceim staff) and it has done wonder for ny skin! I’ve been using for almost a month now, and my skin is brighter, almost all of my dark spots are gone! If you’re using this with other The Ordinary products, I recommend waiting 10min before applying the next product. It’s always good to let your skin soak up one product before proceeding with the next, if not it will just sit on your skin.

HOLY GRAIL!!!! OMG!!! Backstory: I have had terrible acne since I was 12, I’m 28. I’m talking cystic hormonal acne that covers my face 24/7. I’ve tried absolutely everything, from doctors prescriptions, curology, proactiv multiple times, diet changes, and thousands of dollars on other products. Nothing has worked. I received this product in the mail 1 week ago, and I’ve used it 4 nights. Each morning my face is so much clearer and smoother. I know you shouldn’t come to conclusions that quickly but I’ve never had an experience like this and I couldn’t wait to rave about it.

I'm 22 and have oily/combo skin with my skin concern being more toward open pores and the odd acne breakout. However I am starting to have a concern for aging as well and I thought this would be a good product for both of those concerns. I have used it for over a month now but I have found that any lines that were starting to develop on my forehead have disappeared. I would definitely recommend if you want an anti-aging product! Haven't seen much change in terms of pores and acne. Great value for a retinoid and there is visible change to appearance of wrinkles.

Rosacean's review here :) 1. does it really work? yes, it does, but it's better for a retinol beginner, not for an already retinol expert 2.does it irritate sensitive skin? not at all, as long as used properly (without other actives & acids) 3. does it cause breakouts? not at all 4. what's its consistency & feeling? consistency: milky, feeling: velvetty & hydrating 5. does it pill with other products? not at all 6. would i recommend it to a friend? i would definately recommend it to a retinol starter.

So far it is working really well. So well that I use it all over my face, neck, chest, hands etc. y'all should really make a large one for the body. Anyways the only problem is I've tried the 5% in squalene and the oily part is just a no go for my skin. Will you be making a 5% emulsion soon? Also can I use a different retinol product separate from this say one in morning one at night or every other day?

Please make a 5 % emulsion, cant use squalane and have to switch to another brand for 5 %.

Might sound a bit odd but I was waiting for the day my face would start the peeling process when I started using a (this) retinoid for the first time. I began gradually and now wear it every night, into my second/third month and still no sign of mild irritation or peeling. Has anyone else had this same effect? Beginning to worry it is not working for me, may need a stronger percentage? Other than that this emulsion version is the best application.

Used this for exactly three months, and as a 21 yr old male, I didn’t have major issues but I saw a reduction in my pore sizes esp on my nose Why I rate this down is:- It settles down as a little tacky. Layering my moisturiser was a little weird sometimes. - The product only lasts three months. I didn’t finish my bottle during this phase so can no longer use itI purged significantly but this was my first Vitamin A. I started using retinol few years ago and went from the weakest one to the newest one (yellow) that just went out. I’m 32 years old and still don’t have any lines on my face and I believe it’s because of retinol. Also all dark spots that I had are gone, probably because I use retinol and niancinamide regularly plus aha bha peeling as recommended.

How quickly does it go bad out of the fridge? It’s been about 24 hours :(

I loved this product! It caused absolutely no sensitivity at all. Left my skin looking smooth and flawless. I don't even know if I would go up in strength, it was perfect, I would buy this again. Great price, didn't feel like I damaged my skin at all. Very nice and gentle and extremely effective!

I love the Ordinary products and this one is definitely amongst my favourites. Been using this for about a month now and after a few days my skin was glowing more, my acne scars had gone down and haven’t had any spots since! Can not recommend this enough!

Pleaaaaaaase make this in 5% it is so so much better than the Squalane. I just changed to the Squalane and I really don’t like it in comparison.

I am using this retinoid emulsion as an every other day product with a prescription tretinoin that my skin gets very irritated with, so I am trying to introduce a retinoid product that is gentler on the skin on my off days. This is very smooth and creamy, and I can apply it all over without experiencing any irritation on my sensitive skin, including my neck and decollete! I took off 3 stars because I want to echo what MULTIPLE of other users have asked for, can we please get this emulsion in a higher percentage like the 5%?? I don't like the squalane version, I would like to keep this version since it is so gentle on my skin and absorbs so well. Please listen to your customers and make a 5%!! I'm 25 and have dealt with pretty bad hormonal acne throughout my 20's. This product, along with the AHA/BHA peel and the rosehip oil, have done wonders for my skin. I still deal with the occasional breakout around my period, but these products give my skin a smooth glow even when I'm breaking out, and my breakouts clear up quicker than ever before. Plus, my skin is so much smoother now, so when I am breaking out, putting makeup over my blemishes is much more effective at covering them. I purchased this product about 1.5 month ago. My skin tend to get milia, and I was told they would improve with retinoids. I used retinoids in the past (another brand), however, I'd get irritated before seeing any shrinking of my milia. This is NOT the case for granactive! Of the many milia I had (8-10), half of them have considerably shrunk, 2 have vanished, whereas the other are still there, although less white and less prominent. A really excellent product.

Mature woman of 52 (nearly) and love this product. I use this after I have used the moisturiser and I use this morning and evening rather than just evening. My skin has never looked better considering my age.

This is just a wonderful serum. I have been using it for over a year now, and my skin is just beautiful, even at 57. I am fortunate that I have very normal skin that is not sensitive. However, I did not like the Squalane oil, which I ordered, tried ... then gave it to a friend. That is why I am BEGGING you all to make a higher strength of this product. PLEASE!! The only way I can use a higher retinoid by The Ordinary is one that is combined with Squalane oil!
