SkinCeuticals Discoloration Defense Dark Spot Correcting Serum 30ml

this discoloration serum is thin like water and applies very easily. it is unscented. it leaves a very slight sheen on your face, and is a touch sticky. it is not greasy or oily. there is no irritation or stinging with this product. it really has terrific ingredients for discoloration, not too many fillers and great name recognition.

So I just started using this so I can't speak to long term effectiveness. It does brightened but be really careful. I used this all over my face and it totally broke my face out in a rash. Maybe a better spot treatment but all the same very strong.

When I first started using this product I didn't see any results. It was two months later when the dark spots started to fade. The spots get lighter over time. If you stick with the regimen and use sunscreen.. you'll notice a difference. Just note that the spots don't completely disappear. Need to stay out of the sun.

I am approaching 60 and though I practice diligent suncare now, that was not the case 30 years ago. I have slight discoloration on the jawline but two distinct spots that I was hoping to lighten. I had tried laser but it made it worse. So I figured I would give this a try as it had many positive reviews. I can honestly say that after following the directions for two weeks, twice a day, I am starting to see some lightening. It says you must continue for at least 12 weeks which I intend to do. I do not leave the house without putting on my Skinceuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50. That has truly been a game changer. I cannot say enough good things about it. I do keep one bottle at work as I reapply when I go out for lunch. But it allows you to go makeup free as it has a blurring effect. I just love it. For those of you on the fence with the Discoloration Defense serum I say give it a try. It is definitely doing something and I am excited to see what it will look like in 4 weeks, 8 weeks and then 12 weeks. I will try to write another review as time passes.

A little of this goes a long way but I felt like after four weeks I didnt notice any change in my skin even with using retinol, glycolics, and SPF 50 everyday. I noticed more of a change with the Lytera 2.0

I'm 46 and I have used sunscreen on my face daily for about 30 years. I'm fair skinned and normal daily activities would leave with a sunburn. So in high school, long before anyone was wearing sunscreen in their daily moisturizers (when the most I could find was SPF 15), I was doing so. My skin looks pretty good. I don't have a lot of discoloration or brown spots on my face and neck. But I have a couple that are pronounced and a few more around my eyes are popping up as I age. I got a sample of this and used it on only my spots and wow, what a difference I saw! They didn't go completely away, but they lightened so much that I couldn't see them under my light-coverage foundation. So I just bought this product again and I'm looking forward to seeing whether they lighten even more over time with consistent use.

this item is amazing it is also more affordable than any other skinceuticals serum and works just as well!! would definetly buy again!

This is a nice serum but it works very slowly on skin discoloration . It would probably take two bottles to see results depending on the pigmentation

I have been using this product daily for about a year and can tell a huge improvement in my skin. Prior to using this I had very noticeable brown spots particularly on my left side (since that's the drivers side when I'm in my car). I started using it as part of the brighting system then over time added more products in as I saw changes in my skin. Now my brown spots are not very noticeable and are pretty much hidden under my face up (Gucci Westman foundation stick) highly recommend!

I have several discoloration spots on my face that my annual IPL doesn't help, so I decided to try this. I've been using the Discoloration Defense for about 3 weeks, so it is a little early for a judgement call - that's why I choose 4 stars. There does seem to be some reduction in the discoloration on my face. I took pictures when I started and will compare when I reach the 6 week mark. I have also been using it on the back of my hands and that does appear to be quite successful. I have high hopes for the spots on my face.

I've been using this product for over six months and can easily see the skin has become brighter with dark spot became lighter. Love it!!

I noticed a little brightening at first, and maybe a slight change in subtle skin discoloration, however not significant enough really to pay THIS much money for a serum.

I have enjoyed this product so far and do not have any complaints. My only hesitation is that I use it in conjunction with the CE FERULIC by skinceuticals (which is my absolute favorite, and I've tried a lot of products!!) I took a hiatus from my preexisting skincare routine to take part in a product trial. After a month, I was ready to return to my old ways (the product trial did not work well for me.) I returned to my existing routine which included the CE FERULIC, in which I decided to try a new addition, the discoloration defense. So far, my skin is looking great but I'm not sure if it is only due to the CE Ferulic or both in combination.

I wasn't blown away by this serum and I'm already using vitamin C that helps even out my skin discoloration. To me, it seems redundant.

I have only been using the SkinCeuticals Discoloration Defense for a week but I love the other products so I am sure this one will exceed my expectations also.

This does a great job on stubborn dark spots. I am on my third bottle and am sharing with my husband who also loves it.

I have hyperpigmentation and acne prone skin. I love this product! It doesn't make me break out and helps with hyperpigmentation. You don't need a lot, so it lasts a long time.

I have melasma and dry, sensitive skin. I’ve tried a lot of different products hoping to reduce or at least prevent my discoloration from worsening. This has definitely helped reduce and keep the discoloration more manageable. It is worth the price.

This product helps in getting rid of stubborn hormonal acne marks and dark spots. I use it with vit.c to help with PID from years back and my skin has cleared up and the marks are almost gone. One of my favorites for fading discoloration.

I’ve read consistently positive reviews of this product. My concern is how quickly it loses its efficacy (turns a brown colour after one month of twice daily use).

HVe been using for 1 month without CE Feeulic and I’m noticing a slight difference. Will continue to use.

This is a staple in my arsenal of skin care, i have been combating the brown spots for years and living in Las Vegas, we can’t escape the sun. This product reduces those brown spots and over all discoloration, noticeable. With recommended use, even my atologist asked me what i had been using.

I've tried other products, however, after not seeing results from them, I've finally found one that really works at helping fade sun spots. I took a photo when I started, and then again after my third bottle---it's a visible difference! Happy, YES. Will I continue to use, YES.

I love skinceuticals, and have used many of their products for several years. I noticed a sunspot and was ordering Emollience anyway, so I figured I’d try the discoloration defense. I use it daily, as recommended, with my SC cleansers and moisturizers. Some days I feel like my skin tone looks more even and some days I feel like I see a shadow where I may have not blended the product as much. This effect changes daily so I figure it’s not set in stone how the product works. Overall, I like it. There is no odor, it absorbs well and appears to work. I will probably purchase this product again!

I use this serum religiously if I get a pimple that scars or anything along those lines. THe mark disappears provided that I use the serum 2x per day consistently. I have already repurchased the product once.

I am on my second bottle of this product. I use it every evening before I put on moisturizing lotion.

It works! You have to be diligent about it, and if possible, use a weekly retinol and glycolic to get the product as close to the discoloration spots as possible, but on my second bottle now and it is working!

I received this sample ,I like the formula and the way it feels on the skin. It's hard to give a review when you receive a small sample, with a little larger size sample you would have a chance to try it out for a few weeks to give an honest review. I do like it.
