The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Serum (3 Pack)

I love this product so much! I have used it on and off for a few years, and it works great on my skin. I’m a 39 year old female with normal to dry skin. The niacinamide + zinc serum has helped reduce a lot of the hyperpigmentation I have and make my skin tone more even. It has also helped strengthen my skin barrier and my face feels like it retains moisture much better all throughout the day. This serum truly is one of the first skincare products I used that I could actually see a visible difference in my skin after a few months of consistent use! It feels lightweight when applying to the skin and sinks in quickly. I have not experienced any problems using it before I apply my makeup, but to be fair I do wait a while in between applying skincare and applying makeup to ensure that everything is absorbed.

Over ten years ago I burst a blood vessel on my cheek. Since then I have had a little dark red raised scar, which was difficult to hide with makeup. After about three weeks of putting a drop of this directly on it, it has faded to a little pink blotch, as you can see in these horrendously cropped and censored photos! HOWEVER the rest of my facial skin did NOT like having it applied, and it has given me more bumps and blotches (mostly on the other cheek)! I assume they will completely fade as it's about two weeks since they appeared and they are getting better. So if you have sensitive skin I wouldn't put this on your face as a general daily thing unless you're aiming for reducing specific redness etc. I will start putting it on the spider capillaries around my nose and come back to update if it makes any difference there!

To start I have never written a review before, I am mid twenties with combination skin and for the last two years I have struggled with acne across my chin. It was typical chin acne, flaring up around my period and lessening the other weeks. I was at an absolute loss, with nothing seeming to work. I opted for the ordinary due to price and simplicity of ingredients. The labels weren’t packed with a long list of ingredients, I wanted to know exactly what was going on my skin. Literally within one month of following a skin care routine involving the ordinary my skin was 90% clear and within two months completely clear. I have not had a single breakout since (3 months) I often have nightmares my skin goes back, that’s how traumatising it was for me. I did not change anything specific in my life other than started to use these products. I used to read reviews for hours of brand and products looking for that saviour. Therefore hence why I decided to write this review, if your situation is similar to mine - then definitely try it. Make a routine and stick to it. I apply the niacinimide immediately after my cleanser morning and night. I use the squalane cleanser, and the salicylic acid mask 3 times a week. I also apply a retinol at night. During the day I use hyaluronic acid and the natural moisturising factors. Hope this help, the acne struggle sucks.

I bought this a month ago, however one product arrived damaged. So it was frustrating, however April helped us replaced it. We just received it yesterday and it was intact. Bought it for the purpose of skin brightening. Always get caked a lot on face. Anyone has the problem?

I have been using this for a few years now and it’s been an absolute game changer. I used to have combination skin where it would get oily during the day as well as blackheads. I use this every morning before squalane and it clears the blackheads and minimises the pores keeping my skin from being oily. Also, I have barely had a pimple since I started using it. Can notice as soon as I stop using it as the blackheads instantly grow, this is one product I can’t live without!

So I’ve read a lot of reviews and decided to buy the products to help with my congestion (my face has been angry since turning 30) I used the product for 4 days and the last two it’s been burning pretty intensely and turning my face red. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong since I normally just use a cleanser or what?

My acne spots didn’t leave my face for months and after a week of using this serum, I noticed that the spots look brighter and my skin tone looks more even. Before this serum nothing helped really, finally it works for me!

This might just be my favourite product from the Ordinary! I have struggled with perimenopausal hormone changes causing oiliness and breakouts, and just noticing those mid 40s wrinkles and dullness of my skin. In a week I have far less sebum production and no dryness issues and such an improvement to my skins texture. This is a fabulous product! I apply the serum right out of the shower then my moisturizer.

This works so WELL on acne/ red skin/ spots/ black heads that I genuinely believe it should be prescribed by doctors as an acne treatment!!! It’s amazing! Struggled with worsening acne on going on the pill- I thought as it was hormonal and drug-induced it would be impossible to get rid of, nothing else worked but this did! I’ve got the clearest skin I have ever had in my life! only suffer from the occasional individual pimple now. (Used in combo with the Squalane cleanser)

I’ve been buying this serum for a while now and it’s always done me right. It clears my breakouts and helps with redness. If you struggle with oily skin it will help but it’s also good with dry skin like mine since it’s hydrating. Overall my favorite serum and will always rebuy.

If you're looking to introduce niacinamide into your routine, this is a great option! I have dry, acne prone skin with some uneven texture and old acne scars. Just like its name, it's pretty ordinary. I didn't feel any significant changes on my skin. On the other hand, the product's smell is not pleasant at all, and if you get close to someone, they will definitely notice the unpleasant smell on your skin (I've been told several times that my face doesn't smell good). Additionally, the product's texture is too sticky and doesn't give you enough time to spread it evenly on your neck and face. You have to spread it very quickly. I definitely won't be buying this again.

As much as they're hyped on social media I've never tried anything from The Ordinary.
