SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5 Refining Night Treatment Serum 30ml

This item is very, very strong. Once I started using it every other day (versus a couple times a week) it nearly burned my skin. It's effective but please be warned at its strength. Skin can also chafe for quite a while.

As long as you follow the instructions, this retinol will work wonders. Smooths fine lines, lightens age spots, helps with acne, it is a must have in every woman over 40's skin care routine. I use it once a week and at some point will move up to twice a week.

I have used many different brands of retinol for many years. Unfortunately, some products were too aggressive for my sensitive skin and caused excessive redness and flakiness. Skinceuticals provides quality products that delivery great results! The 1.0 strength did not cause any redness or flakiness. I would definitely recommend this product.

This is billed by many skincare "influencers" as the best retinol to use before transitioning to a prescription, and as someone who spent many of their teen years on prescription retinoids, I'll attest to its efficacy. My skin is pretty tough since I was on Accutane a few years ago, but this is strong enough that I've had to be very methodical and cautious about working it into my routine.

I love this stuff. High quality and effective. Initially made my skin dry and peely but after a suggestion from my esthetician I used a pea size amount mixed with the Skinceuticals triple lipid re and the dryness went away. Will eventually work up to using pure 1.0 Retinol. Benefits: Brighter skin Less wrinkles (in combo with botox) Skin oil production more balanced (no longer dry in some areas and oily in others) and my favorite benefit: Faded dark spots!! This one requires patience. I started using this product in January 2020 (it is now July and I'm also on my first tube so it doesn't go fast!). This morning while applying my make up I realized three large dark spots that were resistant to many other things (chemical peels, lasers, etc) were nearly gone! Hallelujah! This has made my skin so happy. I rarely need to wear much more than a tinted moisturizer and really that is just for the SPF. (Also recommend the Skinceuticals tinted SPFs: Fantastic!) I always just wait for a coupon to come from . Usually once a quarter or every 6 months something will arrive in the mail for a discount so time accordingly!

This is simply the best over the counter retinol! I've been using retinol religiously for 15 years. I've tried them all and I have always come back to Skinceuticals.. People always compliment me on my skin including professionals and always say I look 15-20 years younger than I am. simply the best!

I have been using Skinmedica retinol 1% for awhile. Wanted to try this one and am happy with the results so far.

I love this retinol! I have been using retinol for years so I can tolerate this strong formula. I definitely wouldn't recommend starting out with this one if you're new to retinol. SkinCeuticals is amazing quality and backed by science, I trust their products. There are a lot of retinol products out there but this one is amazing. It is also very affordable when compared to others of similar quality and "medical" grade brands.

Although my skin is not sensitive, it did dry me out so I had to limit my use of the product. Instantly made my skin feel smooth.

I believe this helps my skin stay a bit firmer, and improves overall evenness. I hope it also is staving off wrinkles, crepiness. I try to use it 3-4 times a week. I always wear sunscreen.

Been using this for a couple of years. People comment on how much you get I look. Tried some others but over a short amount of time I can see skin getting worse so I always go back to the skincuetical product.

All you need is a little and it goes a long way and does wonders for your face. Do not use more than you should. It renews skin cells without the need for scrubs.

This is the holy grail of retinol. Definitely start with the lowest grade, and work your way up. I’ve been using this for years, and it’s a game changer. I do a 4 day skin cycle, and this is my day 2. Excellent for spot treatment on breakouts, too!

I just began using the 1.0 Skinceutical Retinol Night Cream. I have been using .05 strength for awhile and wanted to switch over to a higher strength. The two things I like most about this product are 1) I thought it would leave me peeling and red but not so, just flaking and 2) it works as a night cream as well as a retinol product. Just one product instead of two, I love that simplicity, especially at night when I am tired and don't need another step in my routine.

This is the best Retinol product I've used. It diminishes fine lines and doesn't irritate my skin.

Love this full strength retinol. When compared to other brands, this one takes the cake. A retinol is a must for any age and any skin care routine for a preventative and treatment.

I love this retinol. I have used retinol in the past and heard great things about it, so I decided to try this brand and I like it a lot. You have to build up your skin to get use to it. Start out slow to maybe 1x a week, if your skin can handle it, then 2x a week. I don't use it every day, but even with that, I have noticed my skin looking better because I included this into my skin treatment. I do use a moisturizer over it so it doesn't dry up my skin. Retinol drys out my skin, so I make sure I put lots of moisturizer.

I've used this product for years. You have to go lightly. It definitely works, but needs to be developed onto what your skin can tolerate. Don't give up early!

I love this line been using these products over 20 years! I r recommend them To everyone. So I worked up to strongest retinol and finally I have smoothest skin ever! So I apply this after my toner then wait 5-10 min apply Metacell Renewal B3 but this is still not moisturizer enough so I also the face cream too. . 44 no wrinkles at all ,perfect combo for me at night, my skin is dry/sensitive for reference

Is to strong and I have to burn my face I need different product for my brown spots

I got it about 1 month ago. At first I used it every night so my skin became very tender and itchy. I realized my mistake. Stop using it for 1 week now I use it 2 times a week and is wonderful. My facial skin is clean and soft looks healthy.

I purchased this about 2 weeks ago, what a difference it has made in my skin and wrinkles. I’m on my third week and couldn’t be happier with the results thus far. I have used retinol products in the past but this is true retinol, you can tel by how well it works. It does cause your skin to peel very little but after a week or so it’s all good.

I bought this in July of 2010 and, after trying many products that promised results, I was skeptical. I purchased this for enlarged pores around my nose and bridge area. After 6 months of use every other day, the pores have reduced about 40%. I am pleasantly pleased. I, like the other reviewer, did not have any sensitivity issues using the product. I had been using another retinol product before this, however, so my skin may have been conditioned and prepared for this strength. I am ordering again and have high hopes for the next six months!

I refer retinol 0.5 more, 1.0 is too strong to me. It helped to reduce my wrinkle lines but did burn my cheek also

I’ve been using this for 2 months now. It was the first SC Product I bought. I started every other night and now am every night. The 1% was fine for me and I never used Retinol before-ever. I only had one day that I skipped because my skin felt like a mild sunburn-lasted one day and it was back to the schedule I made. In 2 months my wrinkles have softened and some have vanished. I started my skin care journey almost a year ago. I really wanted to prevent aging and got into retinol. The SkinCeuticals really gave my skin what I needed, but if you have never used a retinol before I would suggest only using it twice a week until your skin gets used to it. I really liked this product and I will be buying it again.

Great for improving texture with minimal to no irritation. I don’t have sensitive skin, but I definitely can get dried out easily, and as long as I make sure to moisturize afterwards, it makes my skin smooth overnight!
