The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane 30ml

I have bought plant-derived squalene in the past but the last time I ordered I was delighted to find/try the lighter alternative of hemi-squalene. I was looking forward to purchasing it again but now find it's not available. After trying hemi, regular squalane just doesn't measure up! Hemi squalane was perfect for my skin and hair, even with just one drop I find plant derived squalane too thick for my fine hair and dehydrated acne prone skin. After trying the multi-purpose, well working routine staple hemi squalane, I can't go back to the regular kind. Please consider bringing back hemi squalane! *for fans of hemi squalane, I find amino acids+B5 has similar properties and may be the next best option*

I use this product for my hair 2-3 times a week and it helps with dry ends.

I live in Calgary which is incredibly dry and has very unpredictable weather from chinooks, and after seeing a review from someone else in the area as well as owning other products from the company I caved and bought it. My skin is super dry and sensitive, and I was worried that I'd react to it, but I've been using it for weeks now and my skin has never looked better.

I love squalane for dry face and this product doesn't disappoint me. The oiliness is not overwhelming which is good.

I, honest to god have never written a review about any products before. The Ordinary has changed my life. I wish I would have found it earlier in my life. I have struggled with pretty bad hormonal acne since I was a teenager to still now in my mid 20's. Birth control helped a little bit but still always got bad breakouts with scarring. I'm really fair, with extremely sensitive skin. So finding products for my skin has been difficult. I came across The Ordinary website and decided to give it a shot based on the other good reviews. The website made it easy to find which products worked with which skin. Based on the regimen for blemishes and acne prone skin, I purchased the 100% Plant-Derived Squalane, which I use morning and night. The Niacinamide, which I use once a day before the Squalane, and the AHA 30% BHA 2% Peeling Solution (which I was skeptical about due to my extreme sensitive skin) but works wonders for me. I use that twice a week which I noticed a difference in my skin immediately. My skin can breathe again and does not get "congested anymore" I can honestly say I do not get breakouts anymore, and the scarring is fading away. This stuff is so hydrating! I use it on my on nights when my skin feels really dry due to the cold dry Alberta winters, but I don’t use this on my face too often because I already have a pretty thick moisturizer. I’ve recently started mixing a few drops of this with my body lotion to use on my hands at night because my hands get super dry and cracked in the winter. Love this oil - it’s my last step of my evening routine and use it on my hands too. Spreads easily and doesn’t feel oily - absorbs well.

This brand is the realest makeup or skincare brand i've seen in a long time. I bought this because I had been worried that oils were breaking me out so I wanted something similar but that wasn't a straight oil. I have been working on taking good care of my skin so it seemed like a good next step to take. My current skin routine is using the salicylic acid and niacinamide & zinc (also witch hazel) morning and night, a light moisturizer and then azalaic acid every other night. The nights I don't use it I use this. I think it's helped my skin to be more moisturized. I have not noticed any dry spots/irritation/additional breakouts caused from this and I've been using this for over 6 months. I have used this on the skin around my eyes a LOT and it hasn't irritated them in the slightest! My skin type is mostly combination, my t zone is definitely more oily but I get dry spots around my eyes/cheeks if i am not keeping moistuized. I have VERY acne prone skin with a fair amount of scarring. I would highly recommend this if you were like me and afraid of using oils on your face. It will not magically heal your acne scars, but it will help you make sure your skin is soft and happy!

I just purchased my second bottle. I love this brand! I am currently using seven of their products and can't wait to add a few more. I use this as the next to last step both AM and PM. I have combination, acne prone, aging skin, so I love to stay moisturized. I apply all over my face, neck, and chest. It takes just a tiny amount. I have had ZERO problems with my skin since starting The Ordinary. In fact, any bumps that start to form go away almost immediately and there are no marks left behind. Incredible! This squalane is amazing. I mix a couple drops in the morning and evening with my serums and it completely hydrates my skin. I also mix 4-5 drops in my hair gel and then comb the mix through my hair. My hair is shiny and soft and has great texture.

For the face it was really not good, it broke me out every time I tried to use it. But I found a solution, Im using it together with my body butter and here it works great. Now my favourite moisturizer, doesn't clog pores and it makes my face softer than anything has before, I got 4 products in my first order and I've liked them all but so far this is my favourite

This stuff is life-changing. I use daily, my boyfriend uses it daily, I sent some to my mom and now her and my brothers use it daily. It is REALLY non-comedogenic and heals skin that's been damaged by blemishes. I'm so glad I found this before Winter because it's so moisturizing. I use it in the morning and before bed and I never feel greasy putting this on right before going to bed. I've tried 5+ products from the ordinary and this one is the clear holy grail.

Love, love, love this! I mix it into my daytime moisturizer in the winter, and it's just a great oil to have on hand. It absorbs easily, gives a beautiful glow and is fantastic under makeup. It is also a great vehicle for retinoids and I can also highly recommend those.

I love love love this product. I have dry skin and The Ordinary oils that I have tried (Argan, B-oil, Rosehip) have all been wonderful, but this is my fave. The other oils I use mostly at night, but this one is light enough that i wear it during the day. Wish it came in a larger size!! Would buy a gallon if I could. This is my favorite product from”The ordinary”. I have been using the peels , retinoids, and vitamin c and so I use this to give my skin a break (like twice a week) and it feels heavenly! doesn’t clog my pores (and that is always a problem for me) and makes my skin feel like it is “quenched”. I’m going to buy my friends and family this product as gifts because I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t benefit from this. It's a great hydration oil! It helps reduce dry patches on my nose and chin.

Love it, both for my face and my hair ends.I can feel how it really do moisturize.

A curious one, this. Took some time getting the hang of it. Now I can't live without it. Originally bought it to moisturize my face. As you would. That didn't go so well. Even with just a single drop for my whole face, the oil sits in a thick greasy layer that takes hours - I mean, 6 to 8 hours - to absorb. So, as part of a morning routine, it's a no for me. But I don't give up that easily. I couldn't help but noticing how brilliantly this worked on my chapped lips. I mean, spectacular repair, instant repair, long-lasting repair, forget about the horrible sticks repair. So, I add a few drops to a glycerin base and I have the softest, smoothest, shiniest lips. Ms. Ordinary, when you have a minute, could you please work on a lip mask using your Squalane? It would save me a bit of trouble. Then I thought, OK, it takes forever to absorb, so how about a night mask? Mixed 3 drops into the Natural Moisturizing Factors cream. Woke up the next morning with radiant, supple skin. Sold. I tried using it on my hair. Being 55, my hair is super dry and needs alternating oils to stay nice. Not knowing how well it would wash, I only used a few drops. The Squalane washed well, left hair shiny and soft and scalp more comfortable. Brilliant. I now use Squalane every time I need a nuclear-strength boost of moisturization. Mixed with cream on eczema patches or with lotion last summer after the mosquito bite calming oil. It usually won't replace the products I used previously, like body lotion, but it will take them to the wow level. So glad I found this product. So glad I stuck to it. So glad I have a spare bottle.

Please bring back the Hemi-Squalane!! It was perfect for my very fine hair, but last time I came to buy it it was gone. I decided to try this Squalane but it just leaves my hair lank and greasy looking, even with just a few drops. The only use I've found for it is for extra hydration on my skin overnight after using the AHA/BHA Peeling Solution. If you have thicker/coarser hair, this may be for you, but stay away if you have fine, straight hair!

This stuff is my Holy Grail. Live love it! Very moisturizing but doesn't feel oily at all.

I have been using this divine product now for two months and love love love it! I use it every night after removing my make up and it has definitely made a noticable difference to the feel and look of my skin. It feels so much softer and my pores on my cheeks are much less noticeable. I am slowly introducing other The Ordinary products to my morning and evening routine, I only wish I had discovered the range years ago!

I use it instead of occlusive after my serum and moisturizer. Works like a spell. Been using it for 2 years now. One of my favorite products.

I love this product! I use it twice a day as a Gua Sha lubricant on my face and neck. It is moisturizing but not greasy.

My skin used to be so dry that without my moisturizer it would HURT. I have been putting three drops of this onto my face morning and night at the end of my regimen... I don't even need to put moisturizer on anymore as this leaves my skin feeling so hydrated. Others have even asked what I started doing to my skin as they were also seeing the positive difference! "Glowing"!

I moved to Milan from Asia (where using a moisturiser for my skin was enough). I could only go through winters of Milan by using this. My face looked better, too. If I go out, I first use this and do my makeup. My skin looks like it glows, and my skin never glows otherwise. So, this was a gem changer for me. For people who are suffering from breakout, just a suggestion, check what else you are using with it. I break out if I use a scented moisturiser, but I don't have breakouts if I use something non-scented from the pharmacy.

I use a few drops of this when my skin is feeling a bit dry, whether AM or PM. So far, it's worked amazingly. It also makes my hair shine. When I want to use my foundation as a tinted moisturizer, I add 2 drops of this as well. Works great!

I love this stuff. Have been using it for years since I started with Deciem. I started use the hemi for the summer and the regular for the winter but now I mix them together and it just can’t be beat. Everyone says I glow and my dry skin always feels better and quenched when I have this on. I also use it on my hair. After it comes down from the towel I use a dropper full on the ends and face framing pieces. It makes the frizz go away and the baby hairs settled down and makes it so super shiny it almost looks greasy. But that’s only what it looks like to me. Just like when you use it on your face you look shiny but then it sinks in, well it’s the opposite with your hair. So you don’t need too much for it to do it’s job. Thanks the ordinary for making such a great multitasking product! Couldn’t live without it.

I LOVE this stuff! I have acne prone skin but I use this along with my moisturizer daily. Its very hydrating without being oily and doesn't make me break out. Helps prevent me from getting flaky from Retinoids that I use. Its very gentle and fragrance free. I would love to be able to buy this in a bigger bottle!

i have combination oily/dry skin which means my skin can flake and break out if it isn’t moisturized properly throughout the day. i also used to have a lot of acne caused from all the oil and bacteria my skin produced so i use paula’s choice exfoliant which can really dry out my skin. afterwards i apply the snail serum which lightly hydrates my face, and then use the squalane to finish it all up. i only add 3 small drops for my whole face and it covers it entirely, since it is an oil it’s obvious it isn’t going to deep into your face like that as other reviews complained about. it is a product that adds a protective layer outside and maximizes the potential of layers used beforehand. personally i also found out that it worked better for me before i applied my moisturizer (dove) but i’d usually apply it 10-20 minutes later. this routine basically leaves my skin super soft throughout the day, and since it is such a light oil it doesn’t feel sticky at all throughout the day, just hydrated. i do this routine twice a day because i’ll usually start forming pimples if i start missing a wash a day.

This is my ultimate product from The Ordinary (and I love a lot of their stuff). No matter what I try, I always come back to it. It's amazing for dry skin -- I put it on my face right after coming out of the shower, and it's the ONLY thing I've tried that stops my skin from feeling super tight and dry post shower. I also tried the hemi-squalane, which is lighter, but I didn't like it as much. This one is def oilier, but I like that! It's what makes it feel like it's actually doing something. And it's def still on the thinner side for an oil.

Initially used this by itself on my skincare routine, 5 drops, but it was way too viscous and oily. I then tried adding three drops to my moisturizer, currently using IUNIK cetenella gel moisturizer, and WOW! my face is super hydrated and soft. I def recommend mixing a couple of drops to your moisturizer- a little goes a long way.

I absolutely LOOOOOOOOOOOVE this product! I have to thank The Ordinary for making me discover Squalane as it's now an absolute staple in my skincare routine! I didn't know of it before. I wanna bathe in Squalane day and night now! Maybe I can build myself a coffin filled with Squalane and sleep in it. It would be the secret of my vampire youth. Maybe that's what a vegan vampire would do. :-)

The only thing that helped my dry skin, and did not cause any break outs.
