The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% 30ml

I have suffered from keratosis pilaris (chicken skin/red bumps) on my upper arms since i was a teenager. It was never terrible, but I was always self conscious about it. I started using lactic acid on it about a year ago - I apply about four drops to each arm just before bed each night. I don't use any other products or moisturisers on this area. Within a couple of weeks it made a huge difference. My arms look and feel much smoother, and most of the bumps have completely disappeared. The few bumps that remain are not red at all and do not stick out from the skin very much. I do have to keep using it. I ran out recently and didn't have any for a couple of months, and after a week or so, some of the bumps did start to reappear. But even after two months the KP was nowhere near as bad as it had been before. I would 100% recommend that anyone with similar issues try out this product. Ordinary - please please make this in a larger bottle size!

I've purchased a second bottle of this in preparation of running out! This is my first toner after cleansing at night, every night except the nights I use the 30% aha 2% bha. And it is beautiful. Don't be afraid of the 10%, this acid is very gentle.

I bought this about two months ago, and Ive had terrific results, my skin didn't even break out when i started to use this, and it started aiding my bad acne spots! Just be sure to read the acids you can't use with this!!

Wow, this stuff is fantastic! I have combination/congested skin, with hormonal acne/whiteheads/blackheads around my chin, nose, and forehead. I've never been able to stick with any kind of exfoliating agent due to sensitivity, but this one is working for me. I use it a couple times a week in the PM, let it sit for ~15 minutes or so, and then add the ordinary squalane on top for some extra moisture. This product leaves my skin softer than it has ever been in at least the past 5 years. I noticed a difference after only one use, and it just keeps getting better and better. My blackheads are significantly fewer, and my pores seem less noticeable. Skin texture is refined. No redness, no peeling, no itching, no reactions --just soft and happy skin. Thank you!

Ever since I discovered Ordinary, I've tried multiple products from the line, to see what works the best. I got rid of acne, thanks to ordinary stuff, but I still "suffer" from textural irregularities. BUT lactic acid is really helping me. My skin feels and looks more even and smooth. What I also love about this product, it does NOT dry my skin at all like most of the products (even if the serum is designed to hydrate lol). I dont feel the urgent need to moisturise (I do it anyways, but with super light moisturisers). I use lactic acid every evening for about a month now and I'm pretty sure I found my pm routine, thanks to this. I must mention that I have combination skin and not sensitive at all, so if you have sensitive skin, idk if daily use of lactic acid will be fine for you! But otherwise, I totally recommend.

I was super self conscious about the texture of my skin. I had a lot of little acne all over my face that I hated!!!! I've been using this everyday for a few weeks and I already see such a difference!!!! My skin feels so much softer and my skin tone is more even! I'm soooo happy I started using this product!!!!

So gentle, doesn't even sting, and I've gotten brighter But just one question, it states must be of limited frequency or duration, how many days in a row do I need to use it before holding on for a while?

this was so gentle, nice, and worth the money. my skin was actually glowing, went a little crazy with it at first, definitely listen to the 1-3 times a week (3 AT MAX) other than that I will certainly buy this specific product again!

I'm 22 years old and I've had acne since I was 10. I then developed cystic acne in high school causing me to have really deep acne scars that only seemed to worsen into my early adulthood. I've been using this serum for 2 months now and my skin has looked the best it ever has. I have no more dry spots, I'm not as red as I used to be, and the depth of my acne scars have lessened considerably. My skin is not perfect but since I started using the lactic acid, I'm no longer ashamed to go out without makeup if it absolutely cannot be avoided lol. At first, I was a little wary of using the 10% instead of the 5% that is also offered since I've always thought my skin was super sensitive but it has been perfect and I'm so happy with my purchase.

This works! I've always liked AHA and HA sinkincare, but I find some AHAs to be extremely drying. Lactic acid is much gentler. This product is a blessing! Great formula, lightweight and fast absorbing. My undereye area is sometimes too dry

The instructions are a bit vague. Should it be left on overnight as I've seen some people saying they do or applied and rinsed off after a few minutes?

This is hands down my favorite product by The Ordinary. It leaves my face feeling so soft and looking so bright. When it's really cold and dry, I add a few drops to my body lotion and it instantly relieves dry, itchy legs and arms. I purchased before the reformulation and while it does have a scent, I don't find it to be unpleasant. No irritation or stinging, just a lovely glow the next morning.

This is literally the first time I have ever written a review for anything!! However as I have spent so much time over the years reading through reviews of skin care products trying to find something that will help with my acne I thought now that I have found products that actually work I hope that those scrolling through reviews trying to find something that works will be persuaded to give The Ordinary a go!! My skin was absolutely fine until I turned 20 and since then it has been a real struggle! The only thing that helped was having a sunbed! which I know is so bad for me and I knew this had to stop and couldn't be a long term solution. I have spent a ridiculous amount of money over the last 5 years on treatments, products etc and I would never have believed you if you had told me the answer was going to cost less than £10. I have been using The Ordinary for three months now and my skin is the best it has been in 6 years! I have been using, Lactic Acid, Niacinamide 10% + Zinc and am slowly introducing retinoids into my routine. I am also I love with the foundation! Thank you The Ordinary!!!

i am a going to buy this but is it okay if i use a CERAVE SA smoothing cleanser and then use this serum or do i have to buy the ordinary cleanser as well as the serum?? i just need to ensure that using a CERAVE cleanser and a whole different company’s serum wont lead to me breaking out.

Alright folks, this is my holy grail! I’ve been dealing with hormonal acne for a few years now, and even my Rx retinoid wasn’t really making a dent. Enter my new routine from The Ordinary, and I finally don’t have any new acne popping up — the lactic acid is the MVP here. I used to alternate it with vit c, but once I started using the LA daily, my skin has really transformed. I love this stuff! My skin is pretty used to strong formulas, so I haven’t had any problems with sensitivity to this, but I always use my SPF! Thank you thank you thank to The Ordinary for making skincare affordable, accessible, and most importantly—effective!!

I am in my mid 40s, fair-skin and prone to redness particularly after drinking alcohol or with heat. The lactic acid product is amazing. Visibly reduced redness and brightened my skin and evened out the tone.

I use this along with glycolic acid, (my skin handle it very well), and the result after used them every night for a year is just wow!! Im 46 and have no wrinkles now. I did not have alot before I startet, but my skin was a bit dull and I had some rosacea and scars after acne. The skin around my eyes was way more puffy than now. And now the rosacea is almost gone and my scars hardly show. My skin is glowing, it feels smooth and firm. I also use granactive retioind 5% and hyaluronic acid serum from The Ordinary. (and spf 50 all year round). I REALLY REALLY LOVE your products :D

There’s nothing wrong with this Lactic Acid at all it does exactly what it’s supposed to do, plus with HAvand glycerin it is a lovely humectant. Due to the low pH required in a cleanser (I use one that’s pH 5) to get the most out of your acids, this one is the exception. After my serum I use this acid to leave on as a hydration and brightening step. Like Mandelic Acid it’s gentle for most people to use as an introduction into acids.

I have always been very low maintenance with my skincare routine but after turning 38 it finally caught up with me. My girlfriend bought a handful of product from the ordinary and now I absolutely cannot live without this 10% lactic acid serum. It is so effective, almost like instant Botox on my forehead and it really smooths out and plumps my jowl lines. I will say my skin is very sun damaged and not at all sensitive so it may not be for everyone but for someone who really needs something strong, I absolutely love the lift and glow it gives me. I’m hooked.

I've been using several of The Ordinary's skincare products for the past 8 months and the Lactic Acid 10% + HA is by far my favorite! It is the single biggest game-changer I've added to my skincare routine. After just a couple of weeks, my skin is bright, clear and glowing. I use it AM (under sunscreen) and PM. I feel like this delivers the results that retinol and vitamin c serums never quite achieve - plump, glowing, hydrated skin that's so clear it looks like I'm wearing makeup! It also doesn't burn my skin the way glycolic acid does. Love this so much. It's the top of my trio of must-have Deciem skincare. The other 2 are the Rosehip Oil and Retinoid 2% Emulsion. The affordability of these products is crazy!

I’ve used this for about two months now and it is pretty good. I still have breakouts on my cheeks, but I can tell there’s improvement. I’m a little confused on how many days a week would be best to use this product? Would three days a week be too much? My skin is very tolerant of acids and I haven’t had any issues so far.

I just recieved my order today,I bought a lot of products.I had hope that the Ordinary can change my skin.And woooowww....I have youre product on my face 4 hours and I allready see the difference.I applyed Lactic Acid 10 %, Buffet, and NMF creme..My forehead wrinkles are little reduced.I really needed good acid,I have never used acids before,and now i can see that my face needed good peeling to look good.I have no irritations even the fact that this is my first acid applyed on my face.I am so grateful and happy that I found something that can help me and my face.Andrea

OMG! This serum is amazing, I am 49 yo, dry sensitive skin, prone to acne (with the wrong products). This serum changed my skin in few nights. I have always thought "how can you make a review after few days???", and...now I am here! I could not imagine that a serum could do that to my skin! I've been using this for a couple of weeks, and I adore it! For years I have struggled with adult acne, and recently, I've had issues with dryness and fine lines as well.This has been an absolute godsend. Niacinamide and Zinc has cleared my acne, and this Lactic Acid solution has fixed everything else.For the first few applications it was a little stingy. Now I feel nothing when I put it on, but I wake to unbelievably soft and silky skin, with no rough spots. My fine lines seem faded. I used to never be able to exfoliate enough to get my dry patches off, leaving me scaly and rough, with flaky-looking makeup. This, right here is my go-to, holy grail of skincare. This stuff really works! I apply it as my last step of my nighttime skin routine, AFTER my B Oil and moisturizer. I just rub about half a dropperful between my palms and then pat it all over my face and chest. I wake up the next morning with clear, beautiful, glowing skin! My pores look smaller, the texture is refined, and my skin is supple and dewy. I know it's working because I've gotten so many compliments on my skin since I started using it. Everyone is saying how much younger I look, even my MOM! I will always have this in my regimen, it's my secret weapon!

I can really see a difference after using this product and recommend it! One question I have is if I can layer Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicon on top of it? My skin can handle it just fine, but my question is, if combining the 2 products like this renders any of them less effective? Many thanks! I rub it on my face and neck and leave it on for an hour then I wipe it off with a damp cloth then I put on serum and moisturizer

I have purchased this product multiple times. It works overnight to give you smooth, hydrated, and glowy skin in by the morning.

I bought this exfoliator a few months ago and I have slowly built it into my regime next to Mandelic Acid i use simultaneously (not together tho). In the beginning, I just used it 1x per week while I kept on using the Mandelic Acid but less frequently to let my skin adjust. Right now I use Lactic on the first day, the second day without exfoliator, the third with Mandelic, fourth without, fifth LActic again..etc.. I actually love these as when i have a few spots coming out, i just use one of them for the night and by the next day they usually go away or don't get that inflamed. I feel like the Lactic acid is a bit stronger but I haven't really had any bad reactions, no tingling or anything. The texture is nice as well, less oily than the Mandelic. I did not regret buying the 10% instead of the 5%, works well once you work out how often is the best to use it for your skin.

this is by far my favorite product from The Ordinary. I use several other products in my daily skincare routine but this one has the most obvious results. When masks became our new everyday accessory, I started breaking out around my mouth, chin, and jawline. (sidenote: I finished a course of Accutane over 3 years ago and didn't have a breakout since.. until Covid) It took time and patience to get them under control with topical acne products, and my skin just became so dry, raw, red and irritated from all the topical acne meds (even though I moisturized before and after applying). I finally bought this product and decided to use it while taking a break from Retinols/Benzoyl Peroxide/Salicylic Acid/Sulfur and was amazed the difference in my skin the next morning. My skin looked more hydrated, dark marks and scars were less visible, active breakouts weren't as inflamed and reduced in size. I waited a few nights before using this again and by my second and third use, the results were more significant. By this point, I don't have any new or active breakouts so I can really see the results. My skin looks and feels so hydrated, even before moisturizing. I worked up to using this almost every night when I'm not using acne treatments. A little goes a long way, it's a watery consistency so it spreads well. I wait about 15 minutes before applying the Amino Acid+B5 and Hyaluronic Acid+B5 serums (mixed), then a thicker moisturizer last. If there's any item I highly recommend, it would definitely be the Lactic Acid.
