The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 30% 30ml

I didn't mind the feeling of this product. It went on a little gritty and left my face covered with a sheen for a good 40 minutes while it absorbed in, which made it hard to layer on other treatments and products. It might be a combo of using too many exfoliants, but after two weeks of using this I saw many sebaceous filament appear along my chin, forehead, and my nose -- areas where these were not prominent nor visible previously. I stopped using this product but continued with the rest of my regimen and the filaments have reduced in appearance after 4 days. I did notice a huge improvement in my overall skin tone using this product, however, so I am sad to lay it to rest in my "Nope!" Pile. Onto the next vitamin C product. DECIEM Response: Hi Jocelyn! For effectiveness I would give this a 9. I noticed a big difference in my skin within a week of starting use. That being said as far as texture goes I would give this a 4 or 5. I do get a little bit of tingling and there is a grittiness to it but that doesn't really bother me as much as the oily feeling it leaves on my face that takes at least an hour to go away. I make sure to use no more than a pea sized amount as recommended and also tried mixing it with the moisturizing factors +HA but nothing helps. I prefer to use my vitamin C in the morning and having to wait an hour before it has absorbed enough to apply makeup is not really ideal.

I see some minor difference after use, however, it does not absorb well.. I find that 30 minutes after applying it is still not absorbed and rather oily and gritty on my face. Putting make up over it is an absolute no no.. I think if it died with the matte finish of the azelaic acid suspension, I would be inlove

I love it! I have oily and sensitive skin, so i didn’t think it will do much or that it will irritate my skin. I have zero irritation and my little pimple scars are gone. I don’t mind the smell, i just don’t love the texture. But as long as it is doing its job, i love it. I have a different 5% vitamin c serum with a texture that i love, so i’m using that during the day. This one i’m using during the night or the days that i don’t have to go out.

I really like this product but I'm having issues with it interacting with my other Ordinary products and causing them to "roll" off the skin. I've waited up to 15 minutes to apply with the same issue. I apply after serums and oils. Any advice? "Pilling" often occurs due to many different reasons, for example amount of the product being applied, consistencies of the products being used in conjunction, the total number of products being applied, etc. In this case, you may be applying too much product onto your skin. I use this and the 30% vit C and I love both of them. Makes my pores disappear and skin look radiant and plump. Just wondering how long do I need to stop using them in preparation for a beach vacation? Thanks Deciem. Sue

I have fair, oily skin with acne scarring and sun damage starting to appear as I near 30. I have never used a Vit C product before (or much of any skincare, really) and did not experience significant tingling or any irriation, but my skin looks great!!!! I use this in the morning in conjunction with the Niacinimide/Zinc and have not had any new pimples appear in the last week, and my old cysts are basically nonexistent. WOW!!! Definitely notice a decrease in scar pigmentation. Thank you!

Please don’t ever stop making this product despite negative feedback. It’s one of the most valued items in my regimen. I’m afraid the complexity and genius of this vitamin C formula might be regretfully overlooked. It is gritty in the first few minutes as mentioned because of the fine L-Ascorbic acid powder but that’s how we know we have a product that will perform as an antioxidant. All the other vitamin C serums I’ve seen on the market have oxidized and turned orange. Those serums feel nice on the skin right away and might smell fruity, but they aren’t performing as advertised. The smell of this product does remind me of plastic dolls but I like what a previous reviewer said, think of it as medicine. I use this only in the PM and with just a handful of applications my skin tone is much smoother and brighter and youthful. I too am enjoying the best version of my skin at almost 40 thanks to The Ordinary. And seriously, the price you are asking is robbery. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

This is currently my favorite vitamin C, I'm on my third tube, the "grainy" feeling can be EASILY solved if you add a couple drops of your favorite essence to it right before applying (make sure it's a gentle essence/toner/watery serum without any actives that could interfere with the vitamin C, like niacinamide for example). I feel like this really helps to brighten my skin, ofc I would prefer a less greasy formula but on the other hand I can skip applying a moisturizer with this one and didn't broke me out, I use it every morning before my sunscreen and makeup and keeps my skin hydrated all day long

Yes, it feels a little bit gritty but the results on my skin are absolutely awesome. After three weeks of use my pimples disappeared and my skintone is much fresher and cleaner. I use this serum every day under sunscreen and foundation . It has improved my sun damaged skin with smoothing and brightening. I will continue using this formula and I recommend it. But it is not for the faint of heart. You will acclimate to it in less than a week.

I love this product for my shoulders and chest. It's been doing an amazing job fading sun damage discoloration. I would not, however, recommend it for faces in its full strength. I'd get a less intense product if you're looking for something for your face unless you have ultra strong skin. But for shoulders and chest it works great!

For how cheap this product is, it’s a great source of vit C. I’ve used it for ~2 years and built up tolerance over time (once a week, then every 5 days, every 3 days, etc, now my skin tolerates it easily) and had no issues. The product texture is definitely al dente, but that was expected based on reviews. Grittiness disappears within minutes but face still feels like it has something on it, it’s like an overnight treatment. And when I wake up my skin feels moisturised and plump. My skin has a fair bit of glow but this is likely due to using Vit C consistently for years, this product is just a cost effective way to get plenty of vit C into your skin. Consider having a milder vit C serum to alternate this suspension with for the first half a year or so.

Love this so much. The combination with hyaluronic acid 2% + B5 is top notch. The glow is different!

I’ve been using for about a month now and have noticed some changes in my skin being brighter. Based on other reviews I was worried about the texture, smell, and potentially my skin turning orange but I haven’t had any of those problems. I use at night after my shower and mix with moisturizer. It looks lumpy when I mix but doesn’t feel lumpy. It takes some time to absorb and if you put too much it won’t absorb completely. There’s a slight neutral odor but doesn’t both me. I rub the leftover cream on my hands and fingers. No orange skin. No irritation. My only problem is that the cream is a little liquid-y and comes out of the bottle quickly so be careful.

Great value for a stronger and effective Vitamin C. Helps significantly with elasticity and discolouration. Yes it takes a while to absorb, but definitely worth it!

I bought this product about a month ago and it is absolutely wonderful (as are all their products). Did sting a bit in the beginning, but that was to be expected. By now my skin is used to it (same with retinol). I do not mind the gritty particles at all, that is the VIT C being delivered to the skin! I softly massage into the skin until the particals are absorbed. Although you can use it AM, I only use it PM, as per directive the Ordinary. I alternate between retinol and Vit C. I do not use niacinamide with the C as again, the Oridinary advises against it. There is a clear difference in the skin with this product, it "glows" and the texture is noticably more refined.

I've been using this productive for several years now and it's the best. The stubborn hyperpigmentation from acne in my teens, twenties, and thirties has been tamed. My skin is radiant and firm. I use it daily in the AM with sunscreen.

I love the way this product makes my skin glow and how smooth it feels. Some C creams make you look greasy. The grittyness dissipates. I only wish it dispensed differently. You only need a little and sometimes too much comes out.

After almost a month I decided to make a review for this product!I use it everyday combined with the resveratrol 3%& ferulic acid 3% and I am so satisfied of the results.. I have an acne prone skin but dehydrated, it finally decreased my redness, my pigmentation and I saw a slight difference on my acne scarsI also applied it after Hyaluronic acid (marines hyaluronics) and still effective! Remember to change your skin product frequently to have the maximum results!.I didn't made a perfect review for this product due to the very slow costumer service and the too much delay of its delivery, more than a month!!

I have struggled with adult acne for my entire adulthood. I am 36 years old and this product is the first product to almost stop my breakouts entirely. I don’t understand how. But, I’ll be buying this product going forward, since it’s the only means of stopping my pesky bumps in their tracks.

It makes my skin feel really good! But i do get blackheads from it. i have some on my nose usually, nothing noticeable, but after only using it twice i saw a big change. The spots had gotten bigger and it was alot more, not only on my nose but found some on my chin, cheek and middle of the forhead. Places i never had them before. I did some research and apparently it can be common using vitamin c, but it can be a sign that you applied too much. Which makes sense for my situation. I am going to try to use it every 3 days and to apply a thinner layer, i do have faith in the product.

Been using this before bed for a couple months, and my skin looks fantastic. Way better than any of the other serums I've tried. BUT the smell is really really awful. I thought there was an old wet gym towel hiding somewhere in the bathroom, but it turned out the smell was coming from my face. The texture is weird, but you get used to it. But I can't get used to the smell. I'll keep using it because it does work, but I probably wouldn't buy it again unless they change it.

I’ve only been using this for 3 days but I can already tell a difference with my skin tone. The product is a suspension, so there is a grit to it. It also tingles at first but not bad. The smell is pretty bad. Smells exactly like the smell when the dentist grinds your tooth.

Don't listen to any dumb review. It does feel a bit gritty when you first put it on which did freak me out at first. But if you use a tiny amount and really massage it in it feels amazing. Have been using it for a month now and people are actually asking me if I had work done!! I love the ordinary products but this one is a stand out for me.

I absolutely love this Vitamin C. I have tried sO many over the years but this is the only one that gives me that glow. I first tried it in 2019 but the texture was off putting and didn't work with my make up. So, I tried others. Many others but I never got the same results. Since skin care is all about results, I will never use anything else. I just had to modify when I used it. For me PM is perfect! It's not for everyone but for those that it is.... we are obsessed.

Yes it is gritty and greasy. But it's highly concentrated and makes my skin bright and glowy without a doubt. It's probably better for people who want to use vitamin C at night because of the graininess and greasiness.

Ok guys we should all understand that the product is gritty and does have oily feel!!!!! However the product is amazing it works very well.. I use at night I wash my face I let it completely dry then apply this working it into my face and neck area then go to bed. I did try and mix the product which did make it like but when I noticed that I simply stoped guess what this product is not to mixed into a full 20 million product routine it’s great ALONE it should be used ALONE stop trying to make this work with everything. I notice my eyes are brighter dark circles are gone and face it smoother and brighter and two weeks.. I can’t believe it’s so many reviews of people saying it’s great but they don’t understand why they can’t mix it or how it feels it’s SIMPLE this is how this products work everything won’t glide on and can be used with all products. I don’t use it everyday three times out of the week I look forward to this night because this is the only product I use then off to bed not three or four like usually.. RELAX people and understand all products are not the same..

I actually mix this with the azelaic acid and then apply it (as recommended by famous doctor on Insta), no issues with consistency or absorption. I use it in the morning. I wait for a couple of minutes before I apply my moisturizer and a few more minutes before make up and voila, good to go.

Love the product. But the thing where it is in it , is not easy. As soon the cap goes of it runs out.

Unfortunately I ended up with so many breakout with every product I bought. Yes I have my skin time to adjust and followed directions. This product I actually put on with wet hands to help it spread, I did not care for the pilling feel. Needless to say the next day or a few hours later my face would breakout.

The product which i bought from Germany is gritty/sandy and it had a tingling effect at the first week. But for the last three which i bought from Turkey has no tingling effect and no gritty texture. They are like very light serum. Are they ? How can i understand the products?

I LOVE what this does for my skin esp with resveratrol 3% + ferulic acid 3% but the scent, is terrible and distracting. It's very metallic but also similar to raw potatoes. It lingers on my fingers too. But honestly it's worth the benefits, cost and I don't use it daily. Really gives my skin such a beautiful glow! DECIEM Response: Thank you for your review. I agree with other people that it’s a little gritty and can make your skin a little oily. But I’ve been using it for a couple of days and I already see a reduction in fine lines (must be the HA) and I don’t find it irritating at all. I didn’t notice any pilling, either. For the record, I add it after cleansing and on damp skin (I just spray on some rose water). Maybe if you have super sensitive skin it won’t be for you but I’m sold.
